We were in an annex away from the main building. There was no hot water or WiFi. The hotel was dirty and tired. Needs a refurb.

Excellent and all-too-brief visit. We where able to book in an hour early without fuss. A relaxing evening and a fine breakfast with quick and efficient staff. Our fifth visit in less than 12 months and hopefully not our las

Cotswold gem
This was our 4th visit in 2019 and we also gifted a stay here for friends. We love coming here, everyone is so calm and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is to be looked forward to. We usually come for 2 nights and may well be back in the next couple of months.

Very disappointing! Not what we expected!!
When we arrived at the Hotel which was very nice (from what I saw at Reception) I was told that our room was in the Orangery, an outside separate building. Orangery is too posh a word for it . It was a cold depressing separate building, which made you feel a complete outcast from the Hotel, the room smelt damp and old and the fixtures and fittings needed updating. When we we arrived for breakfast at the Hotel the next morning we were told the conservatory was busy and offered a table in another room. I insisted I wanted to wait for the conservatory having felt we had not enjoyed any benefits of the Hotel. The conservatory was very pleasant and we enjoyed a nice breakfast. The Hotel looked lovely once we were in there but it was not what I expected for our anniversary evening away, to be put in a separate outbuilding. I feel you should be made aware of this as it is SO disappointing. Having discussed it with the operations manager who was very understanding he pointed out that whoever you book through ( Hotels.com) they allocate a room so unfortunately the Hotel were not at fault! It was awful to be put outside and not something my husband and I would ever choose. We chose the hotel on the basis of the photographs of the Hotel - not an orangery outside. Be careful when booking & be aware - it is not good!!! For a considerable amount of money per stay we felt like we were in the laundry building which is where in the morning the staff collected the laundry from disappointing!

Weather was bad, rainy and cold. Our room was away from main building. Hence, for breakfast and dinner it was like going somewhere else. Putting jackets/coats for your little one and walking slippery steps to go to dining room was hard. In room description it said double bed plus sofa bed. But there was no sofa bed. Hence, me, my friend and my 2 years old squeezed in a double bed. On the positive side staff were friendly.

Avoid
Room not cleaned properly - shower cubicle had extensive mold to the doors, grouting and shower hose. Light in corridor kept going on/off throughout the night, felt like was next to a zebra crossing with lights flashing.Cooked breakfast - barely warm first morning and again next morning. Reception did not want to hear concerns raised, therefore have put this in writing and waiting for a response.

Underwhelmed
Was quite underwhelmed with our room to be honest. It was a large and comfortable room but was tired and outdated, and the bathroom cleanliness was substandard with mildew in shower cubical and hair left in drain. The overall service from staff was good, attentive to needs and breakfast was enjoyable.

Booked as a break for my parents, who said they couldn't fault the hotel or its staff. Highly recommended.
