Friendly, helpful staff. Connected us with a terrific guide (Carlos) and arranged night tour. Buildings are very attractive, and rooms are very comfortable- ours had a balcony looking into woods and garden areas. Beautiful grounds with trails, outdoor lounging areas and lots of birds to see. Convenient location for many local attractions and several very good restaurants within short walking distance. Close to the action but away from the noise. Excellent breakfasts. Ideal- no complaints.

Wonderful view of jungle and mountains. Needed to have a tv. in room. Breakfast was lovely but need to open restaurant and bar for more meals.

High level of care and quality shows in every detail. One upgrade - it would be a great service to guests that arrive by car to provide a map showing current conditions of the roads to Monteverde with approximate travel times.

Overbooked, and Cockroaches!
The room is overbooked. We couldn't get the room we booked. When we arrived, they sent my family to a place that is not a hotel room and we needed to walk by feet for a while. We refused to go. The owner came but said, "if you don't like the current situation, you are welcome to cancel your reservation and find a hotel by yourself." We argued that this was a group trip (6 families) and that day was my wife's birthday. After a 20 minutes fight, they reluctantly gave my family a room. The room is small. you can hear the wind outside. Worse, there are centipedes and bugs. The day when we left, we found cockroaches!! Won't stay here forever!!!

Arrived very early so was directed to a great bakery just up the road...well worth checking out. Check in simple and room clean. Pillows lumpy though that's an easy fix. Shower was the best on our whole trip. Definitely recommend.

jungle lodge with bird viewing patio. The only drawback is that the description says restaurant on property, but only breakfast is served. However, the breakfast was excellent, and there are many local eateries.

We liked our stay at this lodge. We knew ahead of time that they wouldn't have a pool, but even a small hot tub would have been nice after all the hiking we had done. However, we were just passing through so it was relaxing. There was wine in the fridge but no bottle opener.... went to town and bought one and left it there for others. Also, the breakfast was wonderful and we saw little hummingbirds and a few other varieties of birds singing in the forest right below the deck where we had breakfast. Very sweet!
