Very bad experience staying at this property. Expedia should take off the 3 star rating from this so called hotel. 1. There were never anyone on the reception. On our arrival had to wait for 25 mins. Every time went to ask something, no one is at the reception. 2. We had our heating broken. Because of the location by the sea, it was super cold. Asked to change the room, they said the heating will be sorted. When came back after all day, it was still broken. I have asked for refund, so that I can go to a different hotel. But they refused to give me refund. They provided us a electronic plugin heater, which makes bad noise. So couldn’t keep it on to sleep. End of our trip, we were exhausted. Because of lack of sleep. I have informed Expedia and didn’t get any refund either. But I have been told that I will get £30 worth points towards my next booking. After paying £171.00 this was peanut. It was a bad experience.

Hotel Messner, I believe is also called Palace Messner, there is nothing palacial about this place. I’m embarrassed to admit I even stayed here. The reception area is separate from the hotel, you have to walk around to the opposite end to gain entry. The reception area is nice and the restaurant is also okay. The rooms are something to be desired. The rooms are seedy, the walls seems to be cracked, the wallpaper is ripped and falling off in areas. The blankets were gross, bathrooms old and delapitated. This is a place that needed remodeling back in the 80s. It’s in bad condition. The view was nice, the staff were all friendly, except this one lady who held the continental breakfast area like a dictator. Save your money and your health, don’t stay here. It’s the equivalent of a seedy motel in downtown LA. Prices were outrageous for this place.

Friendly staff, nice reception and restaurant for breakfast but disappointing accommodation. The rooms were not particularly clean under and around beds. Also one was very dark, with one bedside light broken and little light from windows or wall lights. Sheets and towels were clean although blankets taken from wardrobes less so. The bathrooms were clean although very basic and one toilet seat did but fit the toilet so did not stay on - very uncomfortable! Some attention to better cleaning of the room and perhaps upgrading the lighting would have made the rooms more pleasant.

This is a nice hotel but needs much updating. The staff is very friendly and rooms are cleaned every day and beds were comfortable but bathroom is extremely small and room needed a lot of updates. TV for the room was the size of a small laptop computer!! Not much time spent in room but it would be nicer if it was up to date.
