Don’t book with hotels.com!!!
Do not book with hotels.com!!! They charged me when I booked and showed up to no reservation at hotel. Staff was very nice and fortunately had an available room, as I was exhausted from traveling, but had to pay motel directly again for 4 nights. Have still to receive refund from original booking from hotels.com, stating they are waiting for motel’s manager approval. Unprofessional and unneeded stress to start a short vacation.

Steer clear if this hotel if you can
The first night we got there we accidentally got the dates wrong for our hotel stay and so they put us in a room with two double beds and we thought that was a $36 stay and it wasn’t and they ended up charging us the next day for the full price, even though it was a mistake and we were staying a total of three nights anyway. In Mexico everything is about money they don’t care about rectifying problems with guests. On the third night we had cockroaches crawling on us and I even took a picture of a cockroach that I was able to partially kill and show the manager. I told her how awful it was to sleep in a bedroom with cockroaches and would she be willing to comp us for anything and she refused. The service staff was okay. Staff somewhat pushy about tips, but we were very generous with. The price was way above what we received in our opinion. But because it’s in Puerto Vallarta they are demanding ridiculous amounts of money

It's the little things...in life...
The rooms are small...but...so what?! It gave me a chance to master my organizational skills! I thought this over as I dissected the room in my mind! Every bit of placement of things was perfect! The shower across from toilet, the sink...but the air conditioning with a ceiling fan provided cooling comfort after our daily walks. The two drawers u see the wall mirror placed where natural light could help you get ready every morning! The cabinet to hang clothing had a shelf so you could as well place shoes underneath on the floor. Under those two drawers you could utilize the floor space as well! The staff were pleasantly accommodating! The breakfast, coffee, toast and three melon options, not much but enough to take your vitamins! Right down the block you could pay 45 pesos for am awesome bigger breakfast. If everything was grand and too comfortable then you wouldn't want to leave your room! You would miss the wonderful things that circled you. The people, the food, the boardwalk, the playa....all right there! A little ice chest from OXXO and drinks on the patio...oh me oh my we are blessed to have found this wonderful place right in the heart of the old town! Thank you Hotel Mocali for the humbling and wonderful experience...we will be back! Oh and the neighbors play loud music late at night, but so what...they are happy and we were happy for them!

Good location and friendly staff
Gabriela at the front desk was very welcoming and accommodating. Hotel location is perfectly located close to Malecón, shopping and eating. Few hotels we found that included gated parking for our car rental. Hotel is just a bit older, but perfect for a quick stay. Would stay here again. Thank you.

Great for travelers on a budget
The location is ideal, as it is only about four blocks to beach. Busses are one or two blocks away. An easy walk to the Malecon. Many great places to eat nearby. It is situated in a "Mexican Neighborhood " which makes it feel as if one is vacationing in Mexico. The rooms are a little small and the decorations are minimal but we were comfortable. We felt safe in the area and there is a friendly person at the front desk around the clock.

Creepy/Bizarre
Sat down in the dining area to start my day with some coffee and snacks since the booking included free breakfast. Diced melon and dry bread, which seems to be typical. Then I noticed they had a photographer taking voyeur shots of me. So, yeah... Maybe I'll end up on their marketing material?

Hotel is very clean, lots of stairs, great secure parking with closed gate at night and surveillance camera. Rooms comfortable but tiny bathroom and incredibly small sink, kind of like the breakfast. Lol
