AC Hotel Atocha by Marriott

The bathroom had no door and no privacy, since the shower wall was glass. It was cold when you got out of the shower (and we had the room set at about 73) and you had no recourse except getting back into the shower, where it was to damp to dry off. You couldn't go to the toilet without showering the room with light in the middle of the night, since when you opened the door to the toilet a motion detector turned on the light that stayed on for several minutes after you left. Since the door didn't shut all the way, this was not good. The lighting was designed by someone who doesn't recognize that you might want the bedside light on for one side of the bed, but not the other. There was no closet - just an open rack; same mechanical-looking set up for folding clothes. The room looked very nice, but it was not functional. The amenities were nice, and the hotel staff were very nice and efficient, but for me to stay there again, they would have to tear out the room and the electrical harness and redesign them.

This hotel is centrally located and is close to the main station Atocha, the train system is easy to use, if you use Renfa long distance/fast service don’t forget you have a singed sets in a specific carriage. Best thing for the Metro is to buy a 10 trip ticket (we only used 1 card for the both of us) this was permitted at the time of writing (09/20). We have been back to this hotel several times and will continue to do so as the staff are friendly, efficient and best of all most speak a good standard of English. Only a small thing breakfast is only of a continental style, plentiful but with little change. Overall for us a good place to stay.

Better than expected, modern and clean with a bit of an eclectic glass walled shower in the middle of the room. Location and service was the best!!

Check-in really smooth. Front desk guy very friendly & helpful. Room is spacious. Breakfast wonderful. Easy walk from Atocha train station & a metro station nearby too. The bathroom is quite interestingly set but bathtub & shower very relaxing..only need to cover the bathroom more. Its literally see-through.
