A less than luxurious Fairmont
Hotels.com offered some appealing discounts on the room rate. I would not have stayed at the Fairmont based on the high rates quoted on their website. The property is showing its age. Amenities are limited and daily cleaning service is not available. Despite these issues, our room was mostly clean and pleasantly quiet. The staff was friendly and courteous; it was clear to me that the problems of the hotel are connected with the management and not the front of house staff. This property falls under a three- or four-star hotel category with inflated prices. Hotel is conveniently located and has a well-appointed fitness room.

Nice stay
This is a solid hotel with great spa and gym facilities and a restaurant/bar. It is located centrally close to many theaters and walking distance from the Andy Warhol museum as well as the baseball and football stadiums. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The only negative comment I have is that hotels including the Fairmont in Pittsburgh need to start offering daily housekeeping. Every three days is too long to get service. Who wants to use the same glass to drink water or the same cup to have coffee for three days. The front office was accommodating to sending additional supplies (coffee pods, shampoo, etc) upon request, which in my opinion should be done automatically.
