Beware of old reviews - new owner/management
New owner/management since 6 months ago. Very mixed feelings about this place. Undoubtedly beautifully decorated, but lacks the service and prestige of a top hotel. They say the rooms don't have keys because they're 'family', and the staff were very loud in the mornings outside the rooms. One of the showers was dripping, tap broken, with lukewarm water. Dangerously slippery too. Most disappointing thing was the transfer. Expect a good 5-10 mins walk to/from the actual car, carrying your own luggage. Ridiculously overpriced (they charged 10 euros more than our next hotel which was 2 miles further). They then tried to charge us the same 25 euros to get into town. Unexplained and hidden charges, which they only told us at the end as we checked out. They did take 5 euros off but do not take whatever they offer. It'll cost you max 5 euros to get in/out of the city via a local yellow cab (fixed price). They were unclear about our spa booking. Even though it said couple hammam-massage (90 mins), it turned out to be a hammam and massage for one after another, not at the same time. The owner Helene (who admittedly is otherwise very pleasant) offered us a bottle of wine to make up for the mistake in previous email communication, which we never got. Spa unclean. Be careful with the location. Being right in the middle of the medina, it is also down a very narrow alley. We had stones thrown at us whilst walking to the cab just outside the alley.

Beautiful stay at the Riad Camilia
Beautiful property in the heart of the Medina. Staff was very professional, very clean, well decorated facilities and rooms. Fresh fruits, juices, and breakfast in the mornings was a great addition especially when you are looking to get your mornings started quickly. Rooftop has great views in the evening’s for sunsets and staff is very accommodating for anything you may want while on the premise (ie bottle of wine, additional food or snacks, bottles of water) One of the larger reasons I would recommend this Riad is they were always willing to walk you and assist through the medina if needed which was extremely helpful upon our very late and unplanned evening arrival we had. Overall amazing experience and would recommend this location to anyone, especially those looking to see Marrakech and still have that authentic experience. I would advise that the address given trough and our booking reservation did not bring us to the correct location when typed into google maps or a cab driver’s GPS. We ended up about 15 minutes from the correct location and used a landmark of Cafe de France to be dropped off at where we were met by Riad staff. Be aware when trying to navigate around the area even with cell service it can be extremely difficult as there are more roads and alleyways than are shown on google maps and it at best approximates your location to within say 2-300’.

Exceptional stay!
Excellent stay for our first time in Marrakech! Everyone at this property was so helpful and kind, it really set the tone for our time in Morocco. The staff helped us arrange a camel tour, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were booked and taken care of. The daily included breakfast is spectacular; I particularly liked the french toast! The location is tough to find, but we were met by the property at the airport and they arranged the transfer to the riad. After that, it was easy to locate within the Medina! I would not hesitate to stay here again, and recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable riad stay in Marrakech.

Riad Camilia is Heaven in Marrakech
Riad Camilia was heaven on earth and within its walls the world was perfect. Manager Nicolas arranged airport pickup and drop off, a local guide, and delicious breakfasts and dinners. Nicolas took care of every need this family of five required. The rooms were beautifully appointed, had air conditioning in each area, and lovely bathrooms. However, the Riad is located within the Medina and its alleys are very difficult to navigate and we quickly got lost several times. When this happens groups of locals insist on "helping" you find your way and demand tips. I would highly recommend the Riad Camilia for everyone who comes to Marrakesh.
