History, service, and soft beds. Don’t miss it.
You’re going to love it here. I promise. We’re accustomed to a pretty elite set of hotels, and when we walked into Det Hanseatiske, we were a little worried because it’s absolutely quaint — but for no reason at all!!! Erik and his team are incredibly caring and attentive. The hotel is beyond charming in its odd angularity and within its rambling hallways. The amenities are sparse, but that’s a Bergen thing. Breakfast is great. The area is phenomenal. The beds are comfy. The water pressure is ideal. We would go back in a heartbeat. This is the perfect pied a terre while you scope out the fjords. No, there aren’t fluffy bathrobes, but you’ll get those in Oslo. I promise you won’t miss them.

Wouldn’t recommend
Contacted the hotel before our stay to let them know we were coming for our honeymoon, no response. Two twins pulled together with no pad to make the ned comfortable was disappointing. Lovely bathroom and convenient location for walking but not worth the price. Better quality around the area for less, not worth the steep price

A charming hotel with character and comfort
A very nice hotel which is both traditional and homely. It is of a high standard and a lot of effort has been made in order for travellers to have a comfortable stay. I did however find it hard to rest for two reasons, the rooms phone had a very bright screen and the bathroom fan was loud and never seemed to turn off (I could not easily find any switch for it). The breakfast spread was impressive and the décor and surrounding area very attractive. I would definitely visit again.
