Great stay
We enjoyed our stay at the Gat Rossio, the staff were helpful and friendly. Also very courteous and willing to share information of the locality. The location is great except that it is noisy at night , we would look for a room at the rear of the premises next time.(we are both light sleepers) Highly recommended.

Loved It ...
TRip with friends, couldn't get a more central location, fab restaurants / bars around. Really nice boutique hote , very quirky interior. NOt huge amount of space but wasn't needed for a weekend. Breakfast again was great and quite quirky. You had to squeeze your own juice (in a machine) and cook your own eggs (boiled). Great selection of pastries, breads etc. Overall LOVED IT

Great location, reliable WiFi with a few cons
The hotel's greatest advantage is its location. Only steps away from many shops, restaurants, and other places of interest, my stay was incredibly convenient. I a;so appreciated the bedroom's varied options for lighting (you can adjust the brightness of the lights in the room) and reliable WiFi. On the downside, the ice machine was broken when I was there (not too much of a problem though as I wasn't visiting during the summer but a bit of an inconvenience for someone who likes drinks cold), the room was rather small (not a surprise since many other reviewers had pointed this out but still you expect a bit more for the price), and the hair dryer was so small, it was practically useless (TIP: Bring your own hair dryer next time). The breakfast buffet was just okay. A good spread, I suppose, for a European hotel and the machine that made fresh orange juice was a nice touch. Just don't expect to eat anything that's been cooked, prepared, or even sliced as everything seems to have been pre-bought from the deli meats to the pastries to the fruit that's on bowls for you to get from. You have to toast your own bread, boil your own eggs (so no scrambled eggs which wasn't a problem for me personally), and as mentioned, squeeze your own orange juice (not a chore, really, with that juicer of theirs). Staff was helpful but not overly friendly.

A case of style over substance
The location is great and our room had funky lighting and decoration. However the shower squirted over the floor of the tiny bathroom and the door let in the slightest noise from outside. The staff checking us in were helpful and chatty but we were charged for pointing out our boarding cards.
