Good for a budget, but be warned!!!
I am reviewing Trevross on the basis of a family visit. This is a budget guest house, bare that in mind. Breakfast was great and had a very good variety of foods and drinks. The staff were informative and very helpful. Rooms are basic but have what you need for an over night stay. Reception has a chilled water dispenser and a good selection of leaflets for local attractions. The bed linen was clean and towels were provided. Our biggest problem was sharing one toilet with the other guests (definitely take some multisurface wipes with you every time). This is hugely inconvenient if you have young children. Also the w/c had no soap what so ever and no hand dryers or paper towels on both days we were there, disgusting. Imagine how many surfaces you have to touch on the way back to your room or on your way out?? Then multiply that by all the other guests, absolutely disgusting! Try and imagine standing outside the w/c door with a young child who is bursting for the loo but can’t because someone is already in it and tells you to come back in 10 mins at @ 1am in the morning! Apparently there is a single shower for guests but we didn’t feel that adventurous. All in all our experience was satisfactory, apart from the w/c. If you are on a budget then this is good. I would not recommend Trevross. We won’t be returning to Trevross but would give it 6/10.

Affordable and lovely.
The host was really friendly. The price was excellent. Very basic but perfect for us. I heartily recommend if you're looking for a place to base yourself.

Better than I expected
The room was better than I expected after I went through some of the reviews. As it is really cheap, I did not expect this hostel to be luxury, comfortable and it would be somewhat dirty. However, when I used their shared bathrooms and washrooms, those were quite clean that I did not see any hair or stain in the shower room. Maybe it was because I took a bath at around 6pm to 8pm or there were not so many tourists coming at the moment. The staff were very friendly that they would try their best to resolve my queries, which really impressed me during the stay. However, there was a short-term blackout at my 2nd day's stay though it's lucky to occur in the daytime. Nonetheless, as a tourist is concerned, this is quite intolerable except that I am fine for it.

Staff and comfortable bed saved a negative review. House and rooms falling apart in places. Communal shower room musty and enclosed. New carpets a must to start any upgrade! But for the money (one of cheapest on site) didn't expect any different
