6 or 7 rooms sharing a bathroom? It's an old hotel
The town is beautiful, minus the overwhelming industrial plant that causes the town to smell like a sewer quite often. That aside, Camas has some incredibly nice small businesses which add a lot of character. The Birch Street Uptown Lounge is a very classy joint to enjoy a few drinks and relax. Definitely a must visit. The Camas hotel was overall nice, but the fact that there were about 7 rooms sharing a public bathroom was quite a letdown. Had I known that prior to booking, I probably would have chosen a different hotel. Having staid there, overall I do have to say it was nice. Perhaps not worth the cost per night, but it did have character. Decent location as well. Close to Portland, Vancouver and hiking.

Liked the hotel; area was a little blah
The hotel is nice. The downtown area is pretty cool. The paper plant at the end of the downtown strip adds a little unsightly view and a little funky smell to the town that is a bit unpleasant.

great hotel!
I was very impressed by the comfort of the beds. The room was a little small but to be expected for a hotel over 100 years old. I loved the charm and history. Breakfast was excellent! I will stay again!

Good Value
Attractive old hotel brought up to date in a practical way. Shared bath/showers fine with us but maybe some might not like. Ratings we gave are based upon this type of hotel. Don't expect "The Hyatt."

Clean room, friendly staff :)
The only down side to this hotel is the parking. Everything close to the hotel is 2-3 hour parking spots. They have a parking lot it's about two blocks away from the place. It's not like it's a bad place to take a walk. It's a really pretty old part of town. The room was nice and clean. We walking in and it was just pleasant to look at, the bath was clean and nicely stocked. The person at the front desk was very helpful in telling us fun things to do close by. The breakfast they put out in the morning (7:30AM-10:00AM) was really nice and there is a really pretty sitting room to enjoy it in. So overall really nice hotel.
