Grand Muthu Oura View Beach Club

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. Pool is great and room was very spacious. I will definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it to others travelling to Portugal. Location is excellent for the beach and the New Town strip. Everything is within walking distance. A taxi to Old Town is only €5 approx.

I'd love to know when this 5 star rating was acquired; I would guess 20 years ago! This hotel is calling out for a major makeover. We stayed in a family room; the sofa-beds had no back to them so weren't comfortable to sit or sleep on. The floor tiles are meant to be white but are more grey from years to use. The cleaning is seriously lacking, there's a notice up that you must wash your dishes before you leave (this is a first for me especially when check out is 10 am) we found a dishwasher full of dishes from the last guests. The blanket for the sofa bed was disgustingly dirty and we found ants in the rooms. Shower runs hot and cold and near scaled my son. The wifi worked intermittently and was limited for the most part. The facilities on paper seem great and were the main reason why I selected this hotel (indoor heated pool, 2 slides, a diving board and close to the beach) - unfortunately the reality doesn't live up to expectations. The indoor pool isn't that warm, the changing rooms are tiny and I wouldn't dream of using the showers as they looked dirty, the outdoor pool was freezing and therefore unusable (there was scum beside the slide that looked like vomit) For the 2 days we were there the main slide wasn't on. As for the beach location - it is right beside the beach but the gates are locked. On the plus side the location is good and the staff are friendly. But overall this place is a bump and management really need to start reinvesting in this property

the hotel was fabulous , from the reception to the gorgeous pool , fabulous views and right on the beach and close to all resteraunts pubs and shops , old town is a beautiful walk away about 30 mins but the beach is exellent , loads of watersports right at your door , deffo going back , great price too .

I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone. Old, tired, dirty, smelly. Don’t ever ask for a room change. They just get worse. Every room in the place is a problem. They say they are a 4 star hotel. What a joke. 1 star at best. I could go on and on. Just avoid the place. It’s a waste of time and money.

Indoor pool was warm but only for a bit also jacuzzi at indoor pool still not working this one is more new and looks better than the one in the spa
