Average moldy business style hotel
This is your average very small business-style Japanese hotel. Don't expect much for your money, especially wifi which was horrendous and my laptop even refused to connect to it. I had to tether from my phone during our stay. The room was generally well-cleaned, but there was a lot of black mold in the bathroom which made it obvious they didn't bother to clean corners, behind the toilet, behind the lamp, etc. There was a sign that said "anything not in the rubbish bin will not be removed", but the rubbish bin was tiny so I wrote THIS IS RUBBISH in Japanese on a large shopping bag and left it next to the bin .... they still didn't take it until I gave up and just left it out in the hallway. It was also pretty inconvenient that despite offering double, twin, family rooms, they only give you one key per room.

Decent room for a decent price
It’s a typically small room but very clean and close to the station

Unpleasant smoke smell in a non-smoking room.
We were not happy with our stay. The room was really small. We were in a non-smoking room, yet the bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke, which was very unpleasant. The breakfast also left much to be desired. We would not recommend this hotel.

Ok but will not likely book again
We wanted to stay in Kichijoji but could not find a place. We booked this hotel in a nearby area. The hotel is right next to the Asagaya station and in fact you can see the platform from our room. If you are bothered by train noise, do not book this place. We ended up liking the area but if we have a choice of place, we would not stay at this hotel again. Our room was tiny but clean, and hotel staff was nice.

Room was too cramped, and it didn’t meet my standards for cleanliness. For one night, I guess it will do.

Small budget hotel with a lot of eateries nearby
The hotel is very near to JR train station, just about 5 mins' walk. The nearest subway station is some 15 minutes' walk away. Front desk staff are efficient. Checking in is very fast. The room is quite small (as expected by Japanese standard), but is clean. Bed is comfortable. The plus point is there are a lot of eateries neaby and they are open until late at night. So, no problem finding a place to eat late dinner after a day out in Tokyo. There's a dept store near the train station, the supermarket there is open 24 hours. So, this hotel (although rated 2.5 star) offers good value and an affordable option outside the Tokyo central areas. Going to airport is also quite convenient, just take the JR train and change at Shinjuku to Shinagawa, from there take the Keijkyu line to airport. Overall, a better than expected stay at this hotel.

Comfy stay in a convenient location
Great location close to the station and many eating places nearby. Staff not super friendly but efficient. I requested twin beds but they gave us a double bed. However it was queen size and comfy so we didn't mind. I love the massage chair in the room! A great way to relax at the end of the day. Would stay again.

Good for a budget traveler
Near local train station about 20 min. trip from Tokyo main station. A lot of "izakaya" around.Still calm area. I found also live music clubs. Near market street. Helpful and friendly staff. Microwave on the first floor. Beverage dispenser on every room level.

Location is best!!
We selected this hotel after reading the great reviews about its location and we were not disappointed. We first wanted to stay as close as possible to Shinjiku/Shibuya area but so relieved we chose to stay here, a few stations away from the madness. We loved that it was so easy to find, safe to walk around, and Asagaya area is alive yet not rowdy/loud even late at night. You will also hardly hear the high speed train just about 3metres away from the window!! Though the reception was small and staffed only with 2, the check in/out was fast and efficient, and did not take more than a minute. The room is admittedly old as with the building and interiors, but we still loved our stay due to the charming surroundings. We were almost sad to leave and would love to stay here again.
