I booked and paid for suite with a king size bed. I was given a double bed room. When I inquired at the front desk was told the hotel was completely booked and didn’t have any other room to transfer me to. The AC wasn’t working, the room was really hot. I called the front desk twice and was told someone was coming, no one showed up. Called again and they said the ac was down. I asked for an oscillating fan and they don’t have them available. To say the least that night was horrible, my blood pressure was high and the headache was bad. The food is not great, I was expecting traditional Mexican food ( at least one day) The buffet wasn’t great and the restaurants were I have to say my room attendant was very pleasant.

Not a lot positive to say
We were so disappointed in this resort. We made it only 2 nights before eating the money and moving onto somewhere else. This place had so much potential. It’s a beautiful resort with lots and lots pools restaurants and bars. Here’s the negatives: -extremely busy, huge resort with literally thousands of people, loud, drunk and usually screaming (kids). This made it very difficult to relax. -they have hundreds of pool chairs for thousands of people. Do the math. People reserve them the night before with their towels. Also many are broken. -the food is mostly inedible. Awful awful awful. -toilet in our room was broken. We called and nobody came. Then talked to our concierge. They sent a crew out to fix it. And it made it worse. -restaurants and bars are not air conditioned. The only areas with AC are the rooms. -bartenders are unable to make drinks off their menu beyond simple well drinks. -most of the staff is grumpy and not happy to be there serving you. -you cannot get a reservation for any restaurant you want when you want. We were lucky to get 9pm reservations some of the days. But many people we talked to could get into restaurants only 3-4 times in a week. Honestly I cannot figure out how this place has good reviews. I guess if you’re bringing your large family and don’t care about bad buffet food it would be fine. It’s cheap. It has that going for it.

Beautiful resort with consistently flawed food
This resort has some strengths, but some major flaws in the opinion of our group. There with 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 6 to 14. Firstly, I'll warn you that the food here is clearly the worst we've had at several similarly priced/rated all-inclusives. It's not terrible, but deeply flawed. Every item suffers some significant flaw. I'm a foodie, but I'll put it this way...if the restaurants/buffets were standalone restaurants, there is not a person in our group who would return to any place here for a second meal--not one meal met that standard. One example: we went to the Mexican a la carte and two of us ordered cochinita pibil, a legendary Yucatan dish. It came out looking pretty good on the plate, but was one of the saltiest things I've tasted--completely inedible. How could something like that leave a kitchen? Ironic that most food here suffers from a lack of seasoning & salt. Also, be aware most our group suffered from some level of digestive issues and two kids were out of commission for a day with vomiting and diarrhea. It happens in Mexico, but never have we seen this level of digestive issues at similar all-inclusives. Quick rundown of the rest: The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are big, nice and comfy. The pools are nicely kept. Be prepared to play the chair towel reserve game in the mornings. Loved the lazy river. Beach is okay but poor by Yucatan standards. The staff has bright spots, but a contingent is pretty apathetic. The drinks are spotty at best.

We really enjoyed the stay. We travelled with an 8 month old baby. The buffet was delicious with plenty of food. Sometimes it could be a bit busy, making it difficult to get a table, that only happened one night in nine days. The room (ocean view) was beautiful and so comfortable. The water in the shower and bath always worked, as well the AC worked really well. A good relief from the sun with an infant. We always swam at the quiet pool, which was a nice option to get away from the louder ‘party’ pools. If you want a pool side or beach chair, you HAVE to get up at 6 am and reserve chairs with towels, which was really annoying. Especially when people wouldn’t use their reserved seats all day long. Super annoying, and the resort needs to change that! The lazy river was a fun activity, as well there are so many raccoons and rodents and iguanas to see on the resort, we even seen monkeys twice. The beach had the sea grass, but the resort did a good job at keeping it under control. We got to do some decent snorkelling right there too.
