Some of the reviews for this place really aren't taking into account how little you're paying for the location. It wasn't perfectly clean but very much close enough (i.e., the odd hair on the sink or stain on the carpet was the only thing I found) and the room was very large and the bed was comfortable. The turn down service didn't happen every day but I don't really need someone to make my bed for me, it's not like I have that at home! The staff were generally okay but the guy who was at the counter when I checked in was a little bit strange and just sort of stared at me for a while when I said I wanted to check in, and then started saying he thought I had a really nice smile or whatever, but it was a lot more creepy than friendly, and that's something I do wish had been different. However, that was the only time I had an interaction like that. Hotels.com also say there is tea/coffee in the room which there wasn't and that was a bit of a disappointment. The WiFi was also very slow and I often had to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work, so if you need good internet for work or whatever reason, maybe this wouldn't be great for you. Overall, I don't regret staying here. Staying somewhere at this price allowed me to stay in New York longer and see more of the city and it was only two subway stops away from Manhattan, so very accessible. I also had a great view of the Manhattan skyline from my window!
