The rooms are a little small, but clean. The beach that is just steps away from your hotel room is the best I've ever been to.
Located with direct access to the best beach on Isla Mujeres.
Great location right on Playa Norte and not far from town. Very quiet, no frills. Stayed in a cabana. Had a refrigerator which is great. Very small bathroom and no hot water. Staff was very nice. I'm there for the beach and not the room so it's great in that sense.
Good location. Comfortable bed. No WiFi in rooms. Given tickets for coffee, at hotel down the street. There the women held up jar of instant coffee? No ice machine. Bar charged me 10 pesos a scoop. Had to rent chairs and umbrellas on beach for 300 peso. No beach towels.
This was our third visit to the island, and our third stay at Cabanas Maria. The hotel is simple and rustic, no frills. However, the rooms are always extremely clean and the bedding is great, as are the towels. In this price point, I feel that these things are a major plus. We have never been disappointed in any of these areas. The beach is just phenomenal, in beauty and in how shallow it is for at least 50 feet out. Minimal waves. The sand is super soft, no seaweed to contend with. Due to COVID, the beach and restaurant were closed. (The bar was open though!) We knew this going in to it and researched private beach clubs that we were able to access. If you are looking for a no frills place for a great price, with a million dollar view, look no further.
The picture has beach access or looked like part of the hotel but it is not. All beach access are closed because of Covid-19. Do Airbnb if you end up paying more...
Great location For the hotel, public beaches are closed, but we found plenty to do. Golf cart rental was easy and fun and kept us busy sightseeing.
My wife and I recently stayed for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable and the AC had been turned on so it was nice and cool when we arrived. Appreciated that the hotel was taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of Covid 19. The beaches are "closed" on the whole island for that reason but if you go early in the day or close to sunset when the health officials are no longer there you can get a nice swim in and remain safe. It feels like having the whole beach to yourself which is nice if you are a couple like us. The beachside bar was still open so my wife and I had a great time sipping drinks while we waited for beach to become available. Its not classic Isla Mujeres right now with all excitement but our stay was peaceful and comfortable and a much needed break from being sheltered in. Would definitely return and hope they are able to stay open during this crazy time.
Is near to the beach, friendly staff; definitely we back. Cerca de la playa, el personal super amable; definitivamente nosotros regresamos.
The location is great! They do charge for beach chairs and umbrellas.
