Exceptional 10.0
Located in Higashi-Shinjuku, this hotel was about a 10-15 min walk from the nearest JR station. It did have a few local subway stations on the same street but we didn’t use them since we had the JR Pass. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean. We took advantage of the laundry that was available on site. Overall a comfortable stay and a good value for the greater Shinjuku area. It is especially recommended if you want Korean food since it’s located really close to the Korean District.

Very Good 8.0
Hotel conveniently located with Metro entrance 50 yards from hotel door. Room we had was larger than Prince and APA hotel rooms we have stayed at. There is a cheap eat cafeteria just across the street from the hotel and a beautiful traditional Japanese restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Comfortable stay
Quiet area but close to Higashi Shinjuku station. Polite and helpful front desk. Good size room for Japan standards

Good 6.0
Poor service
The room was very small and cramped and I was prepared for this. What I would not return to this hotel for is the poor front desk service. I had asked for help to make reservations to a restaurant and the person who served me was very flippant and said the restaurant was closed. I still went and found it open. The same person also said she would send up extra pillows I had requested for. But back end staff called up 15min later to say there were no extra pillows. I have never heard of a hotel with no extra pillows in my life. The ones in my room were so flat they might as well not have been there to begin with.
