Fab reception received. Superb locations. Renovations ongoing but not disruptive. Would highly recommend

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. The hotel seems to be remodeling. The front desk was on the third floor and we were a little confused trying to find it. The small elevator barely held 3 people and one small bag each. Room and bathroom were a little small for three of us, but the location was very convenient, and only a short walk from trains and metro. Rooms were very clean and had plenty of towels and linens. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of fruit, pastries, breads, eggs, meat, etc. The staff was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and other places to visit in the city.

This hotel is in the perfect location, right opposite the church of San Lorenzo and a five minute walk from the Palazzo dei Medici and a few minutes more to the Duomo. It is our second visit here, the first being four years ago. We would highly recommend it for the location alone. They are currently in the process of doing a lot of upgrading and refurbishment to the hotel, so there were some elements of the stay which were not quite right, but this will all be put right once the work has been completed, for that reason I'm not going to be critical of issues that are temporary. I think they are aiming to make it more of a boutique-style hotel rather than a traditional Florentine one. The staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly the very cheerful breakfast waitresses. I understand that the hotel name will, after the upgrades are complete, be changed to Solo Experience Hotel. I personally think this is a shame, as Medici is such an iconic name in Florence and says a lot about where the hotel is located and plays on the age of the building which I love. However, if they are trying to attract people from the Far East and America rather than Europe, then maybe they feel that a more bland transatlantic type of name will work better. We shall see.

Great location. Very courteous and supportive staff. Room, the one we stayed, was great-----mattress, pillows, bathroom etc. They had welcome drink on our arrival. In fact the drinks complimented by home made cookies were available throughout the day for all guests. The breakfast was with plenty choices, both hot and cold. It was really nice.

Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Very clean Hotel. Location is great. Only drawback was the family room size for 4 members was small. They did provide 4 beds but one bed was a temporary bed (foldable) and it fell down couple of times. Scary to sleep on that bed.
