8/10 Very good

So much space in the city centre
Really pleased I selected this hotel. The price may be "budget" but my single occupancy of a standard single room gave me a large double bedroom, separate lounge with dining area, a mini-kitchen with hotplates and full-size fridge, and a bathroom with both bath and shower - all this right in the centre of Prague. Some previous reviews commented on the cleanliness and service. Staying only two nights, I did not really need any daily housekeeping, so cannot comment on that, but the rooms were certainly all clean when I arrived. Extra pillows in the wardrobe were welcome - I think English people are used to deeper pillows that the Czech norm.
The room was non-smoking, but I suspect that at some time some previous occupant has ignored that. My room opened directly onto the main street - great for appreciating the atmosphere of the city, but there is noisy traffic below. However, the twin-glazing was very effective at cutting that noise out of the room.
The hotel does clearly indicate there is not a 24-hour reception - although staff are on call at all times. I did not need to call, so cannot comment on how efficient that was.
I was very happy to be self catering, and was grateful for the crockery provided, though some people might read "tea and coffee making facilities" and expect to find the tea, coffee, milk and sugar also provided. Just learn the norms of the country you are visiting, folks!
