Romantic Hotel in Venice
The hotel Palazzo Abadessa was so beautiful! The hotel decor was vintage, authentic, and ornate. We loved our room overlooking the garden. It was a very romantic setting. Additionally, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great breakfast and afternoon tea selection each day. I would highly recommend staying here.

Old European Charm
This is a very nice hotel with old style European charm and decor, with a great location centrally located. The staff was also very helpful and easy to talk to. Highly recommended!

Don't believe what they promise, they don't care.
My wife and I chose the Palazzo Abadessa for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Our first visit to our room was not overwhelming and the room was particularly warm. The hotel advertises air conditioning but had turned it off. I asked to have it turned on and they argued with me but did it anyway. The next morning the air conditioning was turned off again. The next night was also warm so I asked again and they refused again. I showed them the website amenities and they said it was't warm enough to turn it on. My wife and I tried leaving the window open but there were bugs and noise. They called the owner who again refused to turn on the air conditioning but gave us a fan. I was terribly disappointed that the hotel would not live up to their advertised amenities. My anniversary night was in a room too hot with a staff unwilling to accommodate. I will never stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone. There are lots of options in Venice, stay somewhere else.

Very Good 8.0
Perfectly located!
The hotel is at a great location, 1 minute walk away from the shops and restaurants but also down a quiet and calm street, the location was perfect! The staff was helpful and the patio is a great plus. The beds were really uncomfortable but the room was clean and modern with the old venetian feel. We will return!

Beautiful hotel in good location
The hotel is beautifully decorated. Everyone was helpful and kind and went out of their way to help. They arranged for our water taxi as we had to check out early in the morning which was very convenient. The garden area is very pretty and the breakfast options were good. The location was quiet, but not far from most tourist attractions. Would definitely stay here again if (hopefully when) we return to Venice.

Exceptional 10.0
What a visually stunning hotel, ancient like Venice but posh. Small enough to be very personal. The two men who helped us at the front desk were very kind and sincere and went above and beyond. They literally bent over backwards for us as far as accommodating us with excellent restaurant recommendations and booking transportation. Would definitely return!

Historic building but poor service.
This is supposed to be a four star hotel. Having just spent a week in a two star hotel in Greece, the service and other aspects of this hotel were disappointing. The breakfast was average, many of the people on reception had limited English and did not go out of their way to be helpful. There was no hair conditioner in the bathroom, the water temperature was variable when having a shower and the shower (over the bath) design meant I kept bashing myself on the soap tray. We were due to check out really early in the morning, I asked if a small takeaway breakfast could be provided (this had been offered without prompting in our previous 2 star hotel) and the man on reception said no problem. However, he wasn’t on shift when we left and the other man on reception was grumpy and clearly didn’t want to provide a breakfast. He did so eventually but when I asked for 2 bottles of water rather then one, he went off to call his boss! Really? A 350ml bottle of water? It was ridiculous. The hotel is in a nice area and is an historic building. Apart from that it doesn’t provide a four star service. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Exceptional 10.0
This 500 year old palace was amazing, you can feel the history in the floor beneath your feet and the beams above your head. A water gate at the front and a precinct for food and shopping out the back with the grand canal just off that providing easy access to gondolas and the water bus. The hotel also boasts a garden with a lawn, the only grass I saw in Venice, which is a fantastic place to eat breakfast if the magnificence of the dining hall gets too much. If/when we return to Venice we will definitely look to stay here again
