    Grenada gem
Our stay at Barcelo carmen was overall very good. Comfy bed, good sized room and bathroom. The room had a balcony overlooking an department store and alhambra. Nice breakfast buffet. Our only complaints is that the bathroom door got stuck a couple of times and that the rooftop pool was small.

    Central hotel worth a stay.
Initially had mixed feelings. We had requested a double and were given a twin room. When we complained we were given a double which looked into a brick wall! We ended up back in a twin. However the location was brilliant and the rooftop bar had stunning views. Plus for the price we couldn’t really complain. So yes I would recommend this place and especially the old chap in reception. He often seemed stressed but he was the star of the show!

    Summer break
Nice, centrally located hotel. Good bedrooms and bathrooms. Bountifull breakfast. Stunning roof top bar area, with fantastic views over Granada. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic central location
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic central location. The room was spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Ruben who recommended a lovely local tapas restaurant. The rooftop bar has amazing views and a good selection of drinks. We would happily stay again.

Guests seem to be an imposition
A difficult review to write, because it is hard to discern where the problems come from. Either the hotel is massively understaffed, or the systems and procedures the hotel has are overly complicated and inefficient, or the staff are ineffective, or maybe it's a combination of all of the above. Certainly everyone always appeared to be very, very busy doing things, yet nothing seemed to get done. Wait times at reception were unacceptably long, staff were clearly harried; serving staff at the rooftop bar/cafe were run off their feet, but again wait times were unacceptable. Something is not right here, but it's difficult to know what, exactly, it is.
