Comfortable beds & pillows, slept very well. Appreciate the blackout curtains to keep out the light if you like to sleep in like I do. Noon checkout time is convenient too, for same reason. This was my 3rd stay here, by the way.

Not thrilled
While beautiful and historic, standard rooms are small and dark. Kind of depressing. Lighting too dim in bathroom to even put on makeup and no room to put toiletries. Tried to upgrade. Nothing available. Even number rooms overlook the street where there was a VERY noisy bar with loud music until 2am on Friday and Saturday. People yelling outside. Not relaxing at all. Pillow over head to get some sleep. Tempted to go home a day early. I wanted to love it. We stayed in Capone Suite for our wedding and it was magical but this was very disappointing.

Great, except for thermostat
The hotel is beautiful. Furniture and in-room amenities are high-quality. Overall a lovely place to stay with tons to do within walking distance. My complaint: the thermostat in the room. There's a little sticker on it with instructions, but they are unclear and irrelevant as (according to the desk clerk) the thermostats frequently don't work. Pushing any button caused the temperature reading to jump to outlandish numbers. We discovered upon check out that we could've had the temperature set remotely by contacting the front desk. Perhaps the sticker on the thermostat should provide that information?
