We read the wonderful reviews abut this hotel and our expectations were high! Hotel Arco Iris DID NOT disappoint. We were greeted by Richard, the owner, who personally led us to our little bungalow. There was a hammock and lush greenery for each bungalow. There were Iguanas soaking up the sun by day and howler monkeys growling at dusk. The rooms were perfectly appointed and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The restaurant "Seasons" was small and situated right on the pool deck which created a picturesque atmosphere. The food was delicious! We even went just for dessert and coffee one night. It was only a very short walk to the beach (best sunsets!) shops and restaurants yet we felt secluded and removed form the crowd. Covid safety practices were present everywhere too.
1st room was small and we told the front desk that our air was not working as good as it could. She said, its because of the sun and it's hot out, huh? that is why you have air conditioning and we had no problems in the other places we have been staying but, ok. go back a few hours later, nope, its still too hot. Owner comes by and tries to fix it. can we wait until tomorrow for the repair man, ok. Head out for dinner come back to get ready for bed. There are ants, big ants and LOTS of them, 40 to 50. We kill them and then decide we can't stay up all night doing this, go to bed. Go to the front desk in the morning, same girl, tell her the air isn't working and about the ants. I will tell housekeeping she says and can look into getting the air fixed. we tell her to change us to another room which she did. This room was MUCH better. Bigger and in the days we were there, maybe 3 ants a day. pool was small but did the trick. bed was comfy, cleaners did a good job every day. In the second room, not sure about the water in the taps though. we asked if we could drink it, front desk girl says yes but they have a water cooler that we can use. I went to wash my face and in the sink it some sort of mineral (lyme?) lots of it. I had used the water in the first room to brush my teeth and rinse out glasses. I did get a horrible case of montezumas revenge, do not drink the water and use your own bottled. it was ok, the front desk girl was not great.
Great little boutique hotel only 12 rooms Well maintained very nice staff at all levels Walking distance to town Did eat at hotel restaurant but heard from other guests is was very good Would go back
We had a little inconvenience but the owner Patrick and his staff Francisco were able to help and overall experience was excellent
We loved our stay at Hotel Arco Iris. The rooms were clean, the staff was helpful, friendly and the restaurant on the property was great too. We liked that it was a boutique hotel with not many rooms because our stay was quiet and relaxing. Only a quick walk to the beach and off the main street. We would definitely come back and stay again!
Friendly and helpful staff. Personalized breakfasts. Centrally located so many things are nearby.
Intimate, immaculate, and iguana-ed! A stellar property!
Very nice small, cozy, quite hotel. Owner is there everyday and very attentive to all our needs. Walking distance to beach and all the downtown restaurants. Hotel also has an excellent restaurant. Highly recommended!
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent reasonably priced restaurant, the food was so good we ate there every night of our stay. Tamarindo was a very busy place but the Arco Iris was our oasis. We had a lovely stay.
