Posada Del Hidalgo Hotel

There was a very loud party outside our bedroom window from 0230 to 0600.....the management did nothing to stop the party ie talk to them or phone police and in the morning not even a sorry....all of us staying in that wing complained but didn't really get an apology from the management. So we were awake all night. the other thing we stayed two nights and both rooms did not even have a chair to sit on - there were some chairs outside the room but not enough for every room to be able to use. One does not want to sit on the bed.

3 posh vintage villas turned into one magnificent hotel, it has so much history and the hotel offers a guided walking tour of the buildings and its surroundings. Do YOU know where El Zorro was born?

It was beautiful. Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and I slept well. Good air conditioning. Only recommendation would be more seating outside to enjoy the fountains and gardens and zorro.

A colonial style hacienda converted into a hotel, actually is a set of 3 buildings turn into 1 hotel. I personally love the old and historic buildings, I recommend walking around, looking at the history and all the details surrounding the hotel and next door museum, this is Northern Mexico. Also a boat trip on the river is fun. El Fuerte is a small town, service is too eager to help and get a tip, but that is fine. Do carry mosquito repellent, they got me the first day. They sell Citronella spray in the local pharmacy.

Beautiful Hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel provided shuttle service from the train station to the hotel and returned us back to the station upon checkout. Rooms are large,very clean and comfortable.

We had a great experience! Everyone was very pleasant and hotel was beautiful. We are definitely returning soon!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Posada de Hidalgo, the food was great, and the service was top notch. Unfortunately one night of our stay there my partner got multiple bites on his legs, we think from mosquitos. The next morning when we were at breakfast he showed them to the wait staff who immediately pulled out a bottle of repellent to spray on himself. It seemed if they know they have a mosquito problem they would have it available or at least tell people that if they are sitting outside for meals in the evening they need to use repellent. So take your own repellent and be prepared.!!

Exceptional hotel! Perfect location, excellent food - must try the ‘langostinos del rio’! We look forward to returning; thank you for a wonderful time!
