We loved the resort. Only a few things that we would have loved: 1. There is no room service! So you need to go to front desk if anything is required. 2. The room that we checked in had coffee stains and a few popcorns on the side table. Since we checked in ale and were too tired to change rooms, we cleaned it ourselves. But surely wasn't a good sight especially at a time like this when cleaning should be the top priority. Hotel amenities are good. They have the hot tub and heated pool open, have a good restaurant on site (though they were fully booked and didn't even take a pickup order).

    Steps away from the water

Area and hotel was excellent. Forced air heat was a bit to get used to as our heat is in floor and silent. Bed defiantly made up for the heater I had to check it out Simmons Beauty rest re energizer.

    Excellent value. Spa feeling

Quiet and lovely. Only thing we noticed was the carpets in the hallway could use a good cleaning. Otherwise fantastic and we enjoyed our stay.

Potential to be nice, but very disappointing

This hotel has the potential to be great, but instead it disappointed me on many levels. Upon checkin, I noticed the cleaning standard was not as high as other hotels I’ve stayed on my trip (5 hotels in 10 days). My room had quite a bit of sand on the floor, grime in bathtub, greasy handprints on the walls and other substances on walls. With covid19 I was surprised by this, because most hotels increased the cleaning, like high touch areas and let you know for peace of mind. I told the front desk, but ended up sweeping and using Lysol wipes on everything myself. Next, was the noise. I got put on the main floor a couple rooms down from the front desk, near the restaurant kitchen and by the door to the pool. I could hear word for word what people were saying, in the halls, at the front desk - everywhere. I could hear dishes being done, I could hear everything crystal clear! Normally at the right price, noise doesn’t bother me, but paying what I did, it was not worth the headache! Lastly, I chose this hotel solely because it’s hot tub and pool were open. When I checked in they told me what the pool and hot tub area capacity was - 46 people I think. She never told me you had to reserve a time slot for the hot tub. Then, at 8pm I go down to the pool/hot tub to find I am not allowed. The pool was closed, and the hot tub was reservations only! I understand doing reservations for covid19 but they didn’t tell me and reservations were full until 10:30 the next day after I’d be gone

I loved the pool and hot tub area... just a bummer you only get to use it for 30 min a day if you book it by 8 am same day because of COVID.

We booked a “Sauvignon One Bedroom Lake View” room at the Walnut Beach Resort through Expedia to celebrate my birthday at the tail end of the Thanksgiving long weekend. We booked four different hotels for our mini vacation around BC through the Expedia site. The other three lived up to or exceeded our expectations. This one did not. Our “stunning view” (as promised on their website) consisted of a hedge and the back of the barbecue cabana from our first floor room, though I did get a small glimpse of the lake if I stood on my tiptoes. It most certainly did not “relax or comfort” us (again, from their website). When I asked at the front desk if there had been a mistake, I was assured that all the suites on that side were considered “lake view”. The clerk (Suhki) was quite snarky throughout this exchange and told me there weren’t any other rooms available. They also didn’t seem to completely follow the COVID protocol recommendations. There were signs throughout the property requesting the use of masks while on site in public areas. While the staff seemed to wear masks, very few guests did and staff did not enforce their rule. Luggage carts were just left in the parking garage, with signs on them to return them to the parking garage when done. There was no indication that any cleaning or sanitizing had been applied to the carts after each use. This did not give me any confidence that anything in our room had been properly sanitized.
