A Slight Disappointment
We booked this hotel because I was looking for a go-to in Reno and had heard some good things about the Peppermill. This is not it.
We arrived really late. I checked in before we left Phoenix. After a 14-hour drive, I basically had to do it all again, but on the positive, they saved our room.
Room: We upgraded to the Tuscany Tower. The room was nice. The pictures make it look nicer than it is in reality; to me, it was a Venetian in Las Vegas Wanna be. The wet bar was empty, and it didn't do us any good if it was supposed to be a refrigerator because it was locked. There was no robe in the room as you would expect.
Available food: Cafe Milano is the only eatery that is open late. I had a Long Island Ice Tea, which at first I thought lacked liquor, but it snuck up on you. I had the cod fish and chips, which did not blow me away. The cod was really doughy. My daughter had the BLT with avocado and waffle fries. It was large but definitely had the diner.
Late check out: I called down to get a late check out and was denied as they said they were sold out for the night. They did not ask how long or anything. I was really disappointed as I have worked hospitality and know that this CAN be accommodated regardless of how busy they are.
Staff: The staff was friendly.
Shopping: The shopping is limited to one store brand. They were closed when we arrived, and I honestly didn't take time to walk through the stores.
