Beautiful Hotel
I took a weekend trip and while checking in, our concierge upgraded us to a suite. It was one of the best rooms I have stayed in: so many amenities and very clean and comfortable. The location was great and very accessible to downtown. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here.

Almost Perfect
Awesome location, especially if you're going to a show or concert across the street at the Orpheum, or any number of other nearby venues. The Suite was SWEET and the food at both restaurants downstairs is also top-notch. Make a weekend of it for a special occasion like we did. You won't regret it. My only complaint is not the fault of the hotel, but the street construction noise from Hennepin, at an early hour, was very annoying. We'll be back, but only AFTER they're done down there. Cheers, Reggie

Very nice hotel, great location. When we did have trouble in the room, they were very responsive and got us what we needed. Thank you!

Great location but . . .
An attractive hotel in a great location. But beware the drawbacks. Parking is a significant weakness. There is no easy parking, so we relied on the valet service ($49 a night). The service consists of one eager but overwhelmed young woman who, try as she did, could not keep up with the demand. And if you happen to return to the hotel when the theaters across the street are letting out, all bets are off. You can't even pull over to await the valet. It's chaos. The room was well appointed and quiet, but maintenance seems to be a problem (a towel hanger falling off the bathroom wall, a sink that drained at a painful pace, and heating units only loosely secured to the wall). One big plus: The bathroom floor appeared to be heated. Very nice. A little thing: There's a nice TV that comes with an impressive-looking remote control, but the only buttons on the remote that seemed to work were the on/off button and those for volume and channel. There was no way to get an on-screen guide. When we arrived, a room service tray was sitting on the hallway floor, and an abandoned luggage cart was at the end of the hall. They were still there 24 hours later. Again, a great downtown location, but I'm not sure that this place warrants four stars.

Good 6.0
Hotel is clean and nice but since Marriott took it over from private owners the "cool" factor is kind of gone. There are still some good original works of art there, but it just kind of seems like an after thought, whereas before it was central to the hotel. The rooftop bar is gone, and the Mercy Restaurant seems like it's really separate from the hotel. I barely saw any other people in the hotel or restaurant and it just felt kind of sad. Room was nice and comfy and clean, but I ordered an $11 grilled cheese and a diet coke from room service and the bill for it was $40+ which I thought was excessive. Also, it didn't seem like they had any cable channels, it was like just the basic cable access/network stations. Overall, the components were there for a nice stay...it just had a depressing, desolate feel to it. For a Friday night in Downtown Mpls, I really felt like I was in the movie the Shining a little bit TBH.

There needed to be more sitting area in the room. Lots of wasted space. Also, there were no washcloths available to use

Fair 4.0
Overpriced and disappointing in almost every way.
I was there for the Rail Show and was expecting a nice hotel because every Le Meridien I have stayed in has been a pleasant experience. The hotel is not kept in good shape, the front of the building looks terrible, the room service is barely room service.I would have yogurt and coffee brought to me and it would take as long as 45 minutes to receive something so simple and then my tray would still be outside my door at 8:00 at night. Whoever is working the front desk delivers the room service. The room was a nice room though. There were better hotels for less money and I paid more than $300 each night. I would never stay here again and I warned all of my customers and business associates at the trade show to avoid this hotel.

The staff was awesome, helped take care of us when mistakes were made (both by us and by them). The hotel is very clean and inviting.

Nice, but at the epicenter of noisy construction
Guests should be warned that the hotel sits in the center of a sizable construction project taking place on the surrounding roads. Land-moving machinery was active into the late hours of the night (on Saturday crews were working past 11pm). it repeatedly shook the building and was sufficient to keep my 2yo, and therefore her parents, from sleeping.
