Proximity to the beach was excellent. Room 1209 needs some upgrading. Bathroom broken. Flooded on us. Fridge not clean and unplugged. It should be plugged ready for customer. I had medication that needed refrigeration. Inconvenient to have to go back down to lobby to stand in line and ask them to put it in their fridge.

2/10 Poor

This is not a couple's place, hundreds of screaming kids in all the pools. There is no place to sit and just enjoy without hearing the screaming or looking at food on the floor. The wait staff tries to keep up. The drink selection is minimal at best with very low-grade options. Our room which was a kitchenette with an ocean view was fabulous except the noise of the screaming kids below. The food was maybe a rating of a 1. We checked out after 3 nights of a 7 night stay. This not a 3.5 star hotel maybe a 2 just because you have the option of all-inclusive. There was no wait staff to deliver drinks if you wanted to sit on the beach or in the chairs around the pool. Very disappointing.

Boisterous Mexican family resort. We knew that going in, but thin walls and varying food quality made for a trying two week stay. Some days food was pretty great, other days the buffet wasn’t good. Beach snack bar was very disappointing. We planned to go out a lot, so we did. Our room didn’t get cleaned until after 3pm every day which was annoying. Also, not an English speaking resort. Piña coladas, however, were high quality and fantastic!

Save your money! This resort is a joke. We booked for a week and we left after 2 days. Expedia is a joke. Still fighting with them to get a refund. It’s been over a month with no answers. The resort is filthy and run down. The pictures are deceiving. We have been to puerto Vallarta 15 times and you are better off staying on the side of the road than this so called resort. Walls are full of mold. The pools were dirty and full of bird dung. You had to walk around with a mug for your drinks. I asked for Pacifico beer and was told There was none left then they brought Pacifico.

This is a three or two star hotel not a 4 star. It was ridiculously noisy!!!! Boom boom at the beach all day so loud you couldn’t talk. So loud at the bar again boom boom boom . If the lowered and had quiet times I would have rated it higher. The staff were excellent 10/10!!

We use the Varadero at the start or end of our vacations in Nuevo Vallarta, before or after a timeshare week. I like the tower building, especially the rooms overlooking the marina. Tower rooms are very roomy. We get breakfast included. Well worth the cost, although I can’t quantify that cost (for breakfast). Older buildings are ocean front. Can be a bit noisy up to midnight as it seems the Mexicans don’t mind keeping their children up quite late. Sound proofing is tough to achieve with marble floors!
