Great staff, great location, and convenient parking.
Very clean and comfortable!
Always lives up to my high expectations. This was probably my 5th or 6th stay at the River Inn over the last few years. I love the layout of rooms with kitchenette; I love the comfort of the work/living areas and well-designed dressing area outside of bathroom. The service is fantastic and the location is perfect for downtown DC, the Mall, Georgetown and running routes along the river. My only downside is it's about 4 miles away from where my family now lives, so it's a bit of an effort to go back and forth.
The staff knew our names and our special visit reason for DC, allowed us a later checkout to accommodate our appointment time and cheered for us when we got a “yes” from immigration! We will never forget them.
We were very happy with the size of our room and the accommodations. The long counter with mirror beside the bathroom was very handy. We used the kitchen every day and it helped us save on our meal costs while we were in Washington for 5 days. The air conditioner was noisy at night cycling on and off so we turned it off and we were Comfortable. The bed was firm and very comfortable. We liked the Foggy Bottom neighborhood with the brick sidewalks and brick row houses. It was very handy to walk to the Metro and go wherever we wanted to go. We would stay there again.
If you have a confirmed reservation, you should not have to try your luck at finding a place to park on the street two blocks from the hotel on a busy night. Additionally Expedia should disclose during the reservation process that $35 per night parking is offered by the hotel on their property. Unfortunately I found out too late after this parking was completely sold out.
Bathroom left a lot to be desired toilet way to small tub to tight and slippery. Parking not good for larger vehicle
Great stay
We were there to drop our son at school. Beautiful lobby with a really nice bar-that was closed. The room we booked was a king suite. Great views, but when we pulled out the sofa bed, there was a used Q-tip and there were rat glue traps under the bed which was alarming. The place needs updating. The area seems nice, but there were rats running everywhere after dark. Freaked me out.
The River Inn is absolutely perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is local to a Trader Joe’s so you can fill your full fridge yourself! The suites are an excellent feature and I plan to stay here again next time I’m here.
