Perfect spot
Situated in the lovely old town, Castelmar is steps from Calle Ocho, a central street lined with fine restaurants that runs through the old town square dominated by the stunning cathedral. Two blocks in another direction brings you to a pedestrian only zone filled with outdoor dining options in the dry season. Two blocks west and you’re at the Malecón, a seven km seaside promenade cherished by locals who bike, stroll, walk their dogs and even hold Zumba classes with a blazing sunset backdrop.

Lovely overall.
Nice room though small and tiny bath/shower though water is hot. Beautiful site, renovated barracks, and terrific to have a pool in hot weather! A little disconcerting to find someone with much larger room was charged the same price paying at the check in desk. The public patio is lovely, but no beer or wine allowed. Maybe to deter noise, but makes larger suite more desirable!
