Malaga Fun
Love the location of this hotel because it is directed connected to train station. The hotel is only about 15 minutes from the town center. The only inconvenience is getting out of the parking lot because of an unmanned guard gate. It took our Uber 15 minutes to simply be allowed out of the parking lot.

Great location for travellers.
Overall, we enjoyed our 4 nights but not without some reservations. The hotel is part of the central station/shopping mall complex so it's a fantastic location for those arriving in Malaga by train - even from the airport. On entering the hotel late on a Saturday afternoon, the first thing we noticed were some slightly unpleasant odours. The odours are obvious in the underground and around the Guadalmedina river so we assumed it's some kind of local drainage problem. At the end of a long hot day you can even smell it in communal areas up on the 6th floor - thankfully not in the room though which is an important point to make. The relatively small rooftop patio was crowded when we arrived, a little less so on following days. The pool is about 2.5metres x 5metres and therefore a little on the small side but it's ok for cooling down at the end of the day. On our first morning (Sunday) the breakfast area was crowded. The food selection is reasonable and they seem to make some small changes every day. A powered shutter blind in the room was a nice touch and it keeps the room dark if you want to lay in. A kettle was provided in the room but no complimentary tea, coffee or milk which seems a little poor for a hotel charging as much as the Barcelo. The staff we met were very helpful and friendly with good English skills. If you do book this hotel, you will probably enjoy it, don't pass up the opportunity of using the slide between the 1st floor and the reception area.

Excellent hotel in a good location next to the main train station. Very quiet, comfortable hotel, huge bed, nice modern bathroom and 4 lifts that meant you don’t wait an age for one to come along. We only had a sandwich one lunchtime but that was good. Two gripes - the overhead shower was dismal, hardly any flow at all but there was a powerful hand held shower in mitigation. And we waited 15 minutes to check out at 10.00hrs. Not all stations were manned (unlike when we checked in at 14.30hrs on Sunday afternoon) and one guy must’ve taken 10 minutes to check in one couple. Would recommend but plan your exit carefully!

Hreat stay
Great hotel couldn't be easier to get to from the airport. Very modern with massive beds so comfy large bathroom with amazing shower. Easy to get to old townvand the beach. Nice touch my wife celebrated her birthday while there and the delivered a bottle of Cava and some chocolates to the room thought that was very nice of them.
