Stay was okay
The hotel itself was nice. I tried finding the most affordable place to stay. The room was very squeaky although the lady at the front did say it was the oldest hotel in the city. The room also had a smell to it. They did have coffee in the morning but I wouldn’t stay here again.

My stay at the El Primero was amazing. The owners were personable, very knowledgeable about the area, and have a great story about the renovation of this beautiful building. I met people from all over who were as happy as I was with this special place.

Hotel with character
The owner was very kind and accommodating. However, the room had a strong odor of an artificial scent. I have asthma and had to run my air purifier the entire stay. My clothes ended smelling like the fake smell. I’m not the only person with these kinds of sensitivities. I highly recommend using fragrance free everything from cleaning to washing solutions. It was quiet at night. The hotel is well built and makes you feel like you’re in another time period. Furniture was worn a little but I guess that’s hard to avoid. Bed was comfy.
