Mostly staff where very friendly and trying their best considering they are grossly under staff for the amount of guests level. Giving a dark and dingy room overlooking a back of a building and a bramble hedge. Change for a different room marginally better but very old fashion and a smaller room and smelt of must. Very poor condition of mattress on the top that of thick curtain came of the rail instead of repairing it they just took it away and left us with the net curtains. Toilet does not flush properly almost break our fingers. Very long time waiting for the cooked breakfast. Very disappointed for a 4 star hotel.

Enjoyable stay in difficult times.
Run of the mill hotel, small rooms no air-conditioning in room. No cups glasses being used at moment due to covid 19 so you get paper cups. Didn't like that so brought a cup in town and use my own. Apart from that breakfast being served in another room that was bigger space for obvious reasons, but it seemed to be only warm not hot. Very different times at mo.

great apart from dinner
Everything was great apart from the terrible dinner, wish we hadn’t eaten at the restaurant. They moved us to a hall, which wasn’t good, the pizza seemed like a frozen pizza and the lamb was awful, not good.

Lovely location
we arrived at lunch time for our stay, we couldn't book in until 3 o'clock We had pre-booked a slot in the pool and spent an hour there We asked if it was possible to book in early at 1:30 but was told the room wasn't ready, and to come back after 2:30 even though it wasn't busy. so we had coffee, over £6 for 2 small cups. The room was clean and tidy, nice comfy bed but small en suite and no air con just a noisy fan Breakfast, due to the covid restrictions, was good and well organised The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the walks around the grounds was scenic and lovely

Could do better in the restaurant
Overall the stay was good, but very disappointed by the quality of the restaurant food. We expected much better from a 4 star hotel. Because of this, we went to a local pub on our 2nd night

The hotel is big and comfortable with modern decor. Check in was quick and friendly. I had a free night which brought the price down but if I hadn't I would have been disappointed with the room which is about the same as you would get in a premier inn nothing special and noise insulation was terrible could hear the people in the next room and the loud music from the function going on which thankfully finished at midnight. The bar was nice and comfortable again with freindly staff. I didnt use the health club so cant comment on it. Breakfast was a buffet and as I was waiting with some other people a very stressed member of staff appeared then disappeared. Finally a woman appeared and told us to sit anywhere as they were short staffed. The food on the buffet was hot but the coffee was cold obviously needed replenishing but was maybe due to lack of staff. Jam for the toast had also run out. Note that the car park can be busy and the additional parking is a fair walk away from the entrance there are however disabled spaces next to the entrance. Normally on a discounted rate the hotel is double figures
