Hotel and staff were great. But the valet only had two guys working and they were backed up around checkout and it took a lot longer than expected to get my car.

The listing for “free parking “ is a false advertisement . It’s only free on street for limited hours at night and it’s a very sketchy part of town that they didn’t recommend walking especially in the evening. The manager worked with us on the parking fee but shouldn’t say free or if do put it’s in street , limited and limited time that it is free

Tru by Hilton - never again!
This hotel is overpriced and most of the staff makes you feel like you are being a pain if you ask for anything. The room is such a crazy layout. Very tight. Not roomy at all. No microwave. Fridge was dirty. Light switch is at door of room. Not convenient. Was told there was a view... there are 2 windows that are frosted and chicken wire. Asked for bodywash since the one in shower was empty... they put lotion and shampoo outside our room, no body wash. We asked for extra pillows they said we will see what we can do. Outlet in bathroom did not work, had to use outlet in room to blow dry hair. 2 very small trash cans. For 175 a night I expected WAY nicer than it was. I will say shower was nice. Breakfast was really good. Super disappointed with room.

2/10 Poor

Worst experience in any hotel in years! Street in front of hotel pick-marked like a bombed-out street in Beirut. Big pieces of concrete prevented safe parking. In the lobby four people behind desk had their own “meeting” going, and there was no interaction with guests walking up, very surly attitudes. I had to talk loud over the cacaphony of non-sense to get their attention. There were no bellmen; I had to schlep our bags upstairs on a rickety cart. I asked for a taxi to get us to Busch Stadium, but they said to use an Uber app or walk. The elevators were old, and only one was in operation for guests; pretty slow for a 12-story hotel. There was no closet in the room, just hooks on a wall. Cheap vinyl flooring that was cold and slippery. Beds were okay, but not the best. There were no cups, glasses or bottled water in the room. There were stains and messes on the main floor, but no urgency to clean them up. The harried, white manager in sweaty shirt sleeves barked out orders to his African-American staff like a Missouri plantation master. We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary and wanted a luxury hotel experience in downtown St Louis. Instead, we got a yuppie, psuedo-environmental hostel that felt like it was operated by IKEA! Total disaster for our lofty expectations!
