An Awkward and Uncomfortable Stay
It was a complicated trip. Upon arrival, I learned that dispite providing a card and confirmation through hotels.com, they had no way of checking me in outside of email. However reception was poor. When I finally got signal, they had processing problems and were unable to take my payment electronically for an hour. They told me to go get cash. I wasn't comfortable with that, so we waited and they finally got the payment processed and let us up to the room from the hallway where we waited. During the stay there was no hot water available, we took cold showers during early spring in Canada. The air handler would never shut off even when it reached the designated temperature. It blew all day all night and was loud. When it came time to check out, we were running about 20 minutes behind. At 10:59AM there was a knock on the door. I opened the door and a woman was there to clean the apartment. I told her we would be out in just 10-20 minutes. She insisted that she had to clear the beds and start the laundry immediately. So I let her in and she walked around, tested the water (which stayed cold) and did things as we walked around finishing our packing. It felt awkward and intrusive. I will stay in an actual hotel next time.

Great location - unit itself needs a refresh.
We booked and paid through Hotels.com a month and a half prior to our stay. Prior to arrival we received an email from The Bay Suites saying they hadn't received payment and we had to pay to gain check-in ionformation. We are still sorting this out. The unit is sparsley furnished with a bare minimum kitchen supplies. The unit we stayed in was dated and could have been cleaner.

Check in went smoothly, unit is compact but had everything i needed, it's modern. The location is terrific, short walk to anything & everything. Bonus it has a compact washer & dryer in the unit Door lock mechanism was a little loose made it hard to lock and unlock

I loved the location, steps away from shopping and restaurants. The staff were nice. I was not able to check in early despite the option being listed on the website as a possibility for 2pm, but the room was ready about 45 minutes early which was nice. Some of the fixtures in the room could have used an upgrade and I could not get the dishwasher to work. I would definitely stay again.

First Stay, but not the last!!! :-)
At first, I was nervous about the stay… coming in from the US, I usually rent hotels but this was my first experience with renting a “aparthotel”. This stay was great! Everything that I needed for 10 days were located in the unit: washer/dryer, closet space, kitchen with cleaning supplies and cookware, and access to TV apps (Roku, Netflix, etc.). This was my first visit to Toronto, but wont be the last- I will most likely reserve this same property for future visits, given the easy access to downtown Toronto and Union Station to Toronto Pearson Airport. Thank you again to Bay Suites for such a pleasant experience!!
