The room was nice and clean. Unloading was a pain. Circle drive was closed. No bellmen to help with bags. Valet refused to park my truck so we did self-parking. So we were unloaded and went to check in. Check in went smooth and desk attendant was great. Got to the room and it was HOT. Asked about it and we were told that they had folks working on it. 4 days later we check out and still hadn’t had any A/C. Mid-70’s in a room may not seem hot to some folks but that was hot for my family and I. Any questions to the front desk were met with the same response that they were working on it. 4 days of avoiding our 4-star hotel so we wouldn’t be hot wasn’t great....especially when kids needed naps. All in all the Contessa is a very nice hotel. If they had the A/C working it would have been better. A little bit of customer service training for the valets and having bellmen on site would be a must for me for a hotel claiming 4-star. Will we go back? Probably will try a different hotel next time. Stayed here on the recommendation of a friend. I’m sure that it can be great. It just wasn’t up to the standard most folks would expect. Good news is that it’s all correctable. Actual property is nice.

Hotel under renovation. There was no restaurant, room service, or maid service. We stayed during winter storm and there were no contingencies in place. Hotel ran out of snack food, etc

Our stay was great!! The bar and restaurant were under renovation, but all was really good. Hotel Contessa is our first choice when staying in San Antonio. We felt safe during our stay this time. Everything was clean and sanitized from the rooms to the lobby and beyond.

We returned for our 1 yr anniversary! The hotel is awesome. My only complaints are 1) the pillows are hard and extremely full and 2) it seemed to take forever tobget hot water to shower at all. Not sure if it was related to renovations or why. Otherwise, we love this hotel ans the location and would love to make this an anuual event for me and my husband.

I expected a better looking hotel for a 4.5star rated hotel as well as the interior decor or finish. The interior looked more like a 3 star hotel not a 4.5 star. Finishing on the interior was poor.

2nd visit love this hotel right off the Riverwalk, they are doing renovations so bar and restaurant area were relocated to second floor, hope to be back and see the improvements on another visit. Parking across the street was 25 a day. Highly recommend. Very Clean, very convenient location, modern decor, very nice and welcoming staff.
