The hotel rooms are clearly showing their age, with definite wear and tear visible on the chairs & tables in my room. Everything was absolutely spotless though, their cleaning staff really are on top of things. The breakfast buffet offers a pretty wide choice, and the quality is pretty good. The biggest downsides are the elevators and the location. The elevators, even though ostensibly designed for three persons, usually capitulate with two people and moderate luggage. Not great when you have a heavy suitcase and need to get to one of the upper floors. As far as the location is concerned, the hotel is pretty central. However, time and fate have not been kind to Swansea, and the area now appears pretty run-down and rough, with a lot of empty buildings around,. There's quite a bit of rebuilding going on though, which might help alleviate this somewhat.
It was nice and clean. Check in was fast and straight forward. Air conditioning in the room was very good
Staff very helpful and friendly. Food average. Room needs updating
Situated perfectly in the centre of the city. Spotlessly clean. Staff extremely, helpful.
Nice hotel downtown, close to the center. Good breakfast. Friendly reception - really appreciated that they kept our bags for the day when checked out.
Good location in city centre, small room for the price charged, needs redecorating throughout the hotel. Bed was comfortable but I’d expect decent pillows in a four star hotel not small lumpy ones and hard rough towels! Reception staff member was very polite and welcoming
Carpet was coming up in the middle which was a slight trip hazard, the TV was dirty, the mirrors had streaks, the air conditioning didn't blow warm and there was mid rift hair in the bath tub. Good points was a friendly lady at reception and clean bedding.
The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. Unfortunately due to Covid regulations everything had to shut down at 18.00 and be take away only, so couldn't sample the proper fare on offer. As for the standard suite we had it was very roomy, the bed was especially comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location, will be retuning when all this pandemic is over and to this hotel.
On a positive- nice towels and plenty of hot water. Unfortunately the carpet throughout was a trip hazard and filthy dirty with mould around the bathroom door due to water damage from the shower. The shower room electric heater desperately needs replacing along with the shower fittings which were again filthy dirty and due to long term damage more water escaped from the chrome fittings rather than the dirty shower rose. Also due to poor ventilation in the bathroom mould was present in all corners of the ceiling. The main room centre light was also damaged and bare wires could be seen. Overall the paint work was badly scuffed and all rooms require a good clean. I’m sure the Dragon has received previous negative feedback but it’s obvious it has been ignored. You can’t live on your previous glory !!
Nice hotel, not worth the price . Expensive and have to pay for parking.
