Lovely Highland Hospitality with a few hiccups
Given the well-publicised difficulties the hospitality industry is having, particularly in more remote locations, the hotel did well. There were obvious gaps in staffing where things were slow, or muddled BUT all the staff were exceptionally friendly and keen to make our stay pleasant. The check-in staff (Blane, Elaine & ano) were great and Elaine upgraded us to ensure we had a dog friendly room. The waiting staff were rushed off their feet (Liam in particular) but nothing was too much trouble. Clearly a bit short staffed at meal times. Housekeeping staff also cheery and chatty. Our room was lovely - very large, comfy bed, although we were glad it wasn’t the hot weather from the previous week because it would’ve been unbearably hot with no a/c. Please improve the water pressure in the shower. The gorgeous weather helped us have a restful couple of days while visiting friends who were holidaying locally. You really have to enjoy scenery, walking, water sports and at times dodgy weather, otherwise you’re quite a bit away from a town with shops/cafes/restaurants - Aberfeldy and Pitlochry both 20 miles along windy roads if you get cabin fever. We only ate in the bar with our pup once when it was very busy and a big chaotic (not sure what the ‘restaurant manager’ added to the service?!) and it was ok but not great. The breakfast was very good although there were no buttermilk pancakes on either morning which was odd? An enjoyable couple of days on the whole. Thank you

A lovely relaxing break
We decided on this Hotel as we knew the scenery was spectacular and we wanted a relaxing couple of days away. The scenery certainly didn't disappoint, We had upgraded our room and it was an excellent size with a sofa and views out on to the loch. The bathroom was dated with the shower over the bath but it wasn't a major problem. We had planned to dine in the main restaurant but we were told that it was closed on a Sunday which I found strange. On the Monday we tried to book the restaurant again but were told that it was closed again due to a wedding party. This was very disappointing but I will say that both nights that we had to eat in the bar area the food was very good. The staff were excellent particularly Frances who served us under pressure in the bar. The young lady who served breakfast was also fantastic working under pressure but always had a smile on her face. We also met Nick who is the new owner of the Hotel. He was always running about helping out and very much hands on. He very kindly bought us a drink after we assisted with a lady from the wedding party who was struggling due to her disability. Thanks Nick! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Two night stay
Just returned from a two night stay and firstly would like say the staff from reception, bar dinner and breakfast were excellent and could do no more to make us feel welcome so big credit there. Recently refurbished to a very good standard and good sized swimming pool, rooms excellent although we did upgrade to a loch view at a reasonable charge. Have no hesitation in recommending loch Rannoch hotel for a break.

6/10 Good

The room was really compact and it was difficult to manoeuvre on and off the toilet as the space was very tight- also restaurants were closed on the Sunday and only choice was a bar meal - the best thing about our stay was the friendliness of the staff

Relaxing stay at loch rannoch
We had a fantastic stay at the loch rannoch hotel. Our room was lovely. Would benefit from fridge in room. Shower temperamental. Used the spa when we arrived it was lovely and temperature of pool was perfect. Had a lovely meal in the estate room on Friday night where a plate with desert sweets and happy birthday was on it for my boyfriend. On the Saturday we had breakfast and we climbed 4 munros 50 minutes away from hotel. We booked dinner in the bar area however didn’t make our booking for 8.30pm. We arrived 8.50pm and the hotel still made us a meal. We were very grateful of this. On Sunday we went for breakfast again. Used our blow up kayak at the marina area where I hired a wet suit and used facilities to get changed and put belongings in locker. We then had a massage each at the spa which was lovely. Can’t wait to come back with our dogs next time!
