Sad but true
This hotel needs a professional managment company. The staff is super nice but everything is a bit worn. A hotel needs consistent refreshing and this hotel does not get that. The sheets were torn the bathmats frayed and the curtains sad and dated. They gave me an upgrade and the room turned out to be smaller and the above mentioned things they said they would remove the upgrade fee but they never did. It has some super cool elements like the basketball court but then they provide a tattered flat ball and the kitchen staff roll dished by you as you shoot. I am happy I stayed the bones of the building are amazing but there are much better hotels for less money in Chicago.

Great stay in Chicago
Great location in Chicago, loved the updated feel yet keeping the history of the place alive. The best part of the stay was all the amenities available on premises, although we did venture out quite a bit we really didn't need to.

Beautiful but uncomfortable-the Chicago Athletic A
Love the history and the preservation of the property. Our bed was not comfortable, though, and the thermostat didn’t work. We slept in a 73degree room when we normally sleep in a 65-68degree room.given that it was the middle of the night when we realized it was not adjusting, we didn’t call the desk.Miserable business day on Sunday at the Mart! Also, a lot of people who were not paying guests made the communal spaces crowded.

Best winter spot to stay at. Because you don’t need to leave the hotel for anything.

Always a great place to stay in Chicago
Always a great place to stay in Chicago. Free glass of champagne, beautiful bars.

The stay was nice. Although the room was extremely small and the bed was right underneath the window where you can feel a draft.

Great hotel we'll stay at again
The only issue was that the thermostat was making the room too hot. We called the desk and they attended to it promptly. It worked for a while but during the night it had issues again. As we were checking out the next morning, we didn't say anything, but we hope to sleep better on our next visit.

Disappointing on many levels
Disappointed that our Junior Suite did not have a sitting area as expected. When we inquired at the front desk, we were told our room is considered to be a suite and the suites vary in their setups. Misleading photographs on the site showing sitting areas for their suites. The bed was way too hard and the heating/cooling system could not be properly adjusted. Also, as an accessible room, there should not be a step up to get into the bathroom. Finally, their “free” WiFi is intermittent and spotty. Continually had to keep re-connecting during our stay.

Family Overnighter
The service was friendly and attentive. Loved the location and thought the room was very nice and clean. My kids loved the game room and Millennium Park views and accessibility. The facility has character but lacks a user-friendly flow - elevators are small/slow and getting around can be somewhat confusing. We had drinks and lunch at Cindy's. The menu is somewhat limited, but they were able to accommodate our picky eaters who prefer burgers to beets. Shake Shack is there for kids, but we were celebrating the holidays and preferred Cindy's atmosphere and food as adults. It isn't our favorite hotel in Chicago, but we'd recommend it and happily visit again.
