Furnishings old and need to be replaced. Roaches in the room. Television never worked.
Spa referred is under construction. Services is sub standard when many items on the menu are not served, fresh juices are not possible, water or wifi are disconnected.... This place is not managed.
This is the only resort on Saba, and it's really very nice. It is located near the town of Bottom but is also isolated enough to be quite peaceful. The rooms are huge and airy when you open all the windows and doors. The decor is (Dutch?) Colonial-ish. All but the lowest tier of room has it's own in-room hot tub. I chose the second to lowest tier haha. I have a few minor complaints. For a high-end resort, I thought the room and amenities could be a bit cleaner. I'm sure a lot of it is just due to age, but I think the whole place (hot tubs, pool, walls) could use a good scrub and fresh coat of paint. The phone in my room also did not work. My other issue is that the staff, though very good at their jobs, is very small. As far as I could tell, there is the owner, a couple housekeeping ladies, a maintenance man, a waitress, and 2 men who do pretty much everything. The 2 men are Frank and Duco. They seem to alternate as I never saw both at the same time. But their function seems to be waiter, bartender, concierge, and anything else that is needed. When things were busy, such as during mealtimes, they seemed to be stretched quite thin manning the restaurant and the bar below, plus attending to the various other needs of the guests. Considering all that, they do a fantastic job and I hope they are well-compensated for all they do. The meals were excellent. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Queen's Gardens and would stay again.
Did expect A/C in bedroom
The location is amazing and the staff excellent. Breakfast and lunch was delicious in a very nice garden overlooking the beautiful Island of Saba. Can’t wait to visit again.
This is a beautiful resort on a beautiful island, with amazing views, incredibly helpful staff, and fantastic drinks (especially if you like gin, of which there are more varieties than there are stars in the sky, it seems, and genius bartender, Duco). The food is fantastic, too, including the fresh local lobster which was grilled and simply flavored with butter. Unfortunately, the spa was not open during our stay, and so, if the spa is important to you (as it was to us), I recommended checking with the resort ahead of time. Our vacation would have been perfect had the spa services been available.
Amazing. Much more beautiful than the pictures.
Claire and her staff are amazing! First class hospitality. Huge suite with jacuzzi overlooking the beautiful scenery and ocean. Giant sliding windows open up to spectacular views. The restaurant serves incredible dishes! Loved EVERYTHING about Queens Garden and will return! Toney was our breakfast server every morning. He is a joy and delight! Duco is incredible. Master multi-tasker and completely on top of his game. Claire is the consummate hostess. She even had a bottle of Bubbly on ice and a thoughtful note waiting in our suite when we arrived. Celebrating our 5th year anniversary and long awaited honeymoon at Queens Garden was PERFECT!
Exactly what we espect Good time in this very nice hotel
Great location! Pleasant and attentive staff. Toney was great! He went above and beyond to make the experience great.
