Exceptional 10.0
Short break
Everything was beautiful the staff were helpful on checking and when we returned that night - the hotel is so beautiful and clean, the room was clean fresh and modern - shower was huge and the bathroom spacious. We were so close to everything! Best of all though was the night porter that walked me to my car at 3am - and made sure I got there safely as I was so nervous! Above and beyond good service with a smile and I was so so grateful 👏👏 well done The Fleet

Friendly hotel in Dublin's tourist hot-spot
I got a quite small room at the very end of a labyrinth of corridors - this was in principle OK with me, as it was reasonably quiet, but I couldn't help to wonder if a man travelling alone would have gotten the same "end of the world" room? Also, while there was a window of sorts, it opened into a strange ventilation duct, and didn't really let in any daylight - which was too bad, as the ceiling light fixture was quite dim, giving the room an overall underground feeling. As the room was +25C when I arrived, with the radiators going full blast, it was good that the window opened. After fiddling around with the unlabeled radiator valves, I was able to turn them off, so after a few hours the room became cool enough to sleep in. The room was overall clean (though the carpet was a bit grubby), and the bathroom was in tip-top condition. The bed comfort was OK, but it leaned over a bit and the pillows were strangely inflexible and a bit too thick. The kettle was strangely hidden away in the closet, pushed to the back of a shelf at the bottom - I "accidentally" found it when I bent down to tie my shoe laces! However, the staff at the reception desk were all brilliant - all smiles, and very helpful - not the least when I needed to leave my bag with them for the day!
