The room was amazing, clean, comfortable and had a great view. The area was easy to access the metro by walking a few blocks or just walk directly to the National Mall. The only thing I did not like about the room was the bathroom fan was on all of the time and I didn’t see a way to shut it off.

Awesome!!! It’s worth it!!!
This hotel is awesome. The level of customer service, the cleanliness of the facility. The staff catered to my needs from I pulled up to Valet to my checkout. They are awesome. I am definitely staying here again

Nice hotel, but please fix WiFi
Mandarín Oriental is a lovely hotel, and the staff and service are absolutely top notch. The facilities could use a bit of sprucing up, but my main (and only, really) gripe with the place is that they make you sign up for the loyalty program in order to receive free WiFi during your stay. Really? In this day and age?!? Such a turn off. I expressed my consternation over this policy upon checkout, and only hope that others will do the same to convince the corporate entity to change this policy. And the WiFi was terribly slow and spotty to boot.

Trying but not there yet
The hotel was clean and comfortable but a lot of little things that added up to an overall impression could be improved. 1. Umbrellas- most nice hotels have umbrellas in the rooms for guest use. The MO did not and when we wanted to go out on a rainy day, they were woefully short of umbrellas. Staff kept disappearing downstairs to find umbrellas and only managed to scrounge up a few- way fewer than the number of people waiting for them. 2. They touted free shuttle service within 2 miles if the hotel and service to the wharf area bit it was never “available” when we asked about it. Free anywhere service could only accommodate 4 people and we were 6. Wharf shuttle was always being recharged when we needed it. Why not recharge overnight!?? Do not really a “service” after all. Just something they claim to have when they really don’t. 3. We were in the club level floor and so ate breakfast and snacks in the club lounge. Food and drinks kept running out. I think they needed larger platters of food so the poor staff wasn’t constantly restocking. Bottled water was always out. And in that note, wht not have pitchers of cold ice water for people just wanting to drink water in the lounge? 4. Very unenvironmentally friendly. Between water bottles in lounge and the fact that they were still using tons of small plastic shampoo and conditioned and shower gel and body lotion bottle instead of installing dispensers in bathroom.
