The Gem on Broadway (and Van Ness)
These rooms are huge! They are in the middle of a renovation and so far the rooms look great! The staff is friendly and the location is perfect for business trips and family vacations. Parking is limited but it is FREE!

Not an ideal stay because of construction work
The facility is in the middle of a renovation/updating project so there was a lot of construction in rooms and around the facility. One room had construction noise in the middle of the night. I think it will be a much nicer place when the renovation is complete, but was not ideal to be staying during the renovation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was just a little less than an ideal stay because of the construction work going on.

Reasonably priced with bonus free parking
Check in and out was quick. Staff was friendly. Had two rooms. One room was fine, the other room smelt like smoke and sweat. The carpets were stained, the sheets had blood stains and cigarette burns. It appears they are starting to remodel which is dearly needed. Free parking which was the deciding factor in choosing this hotel. Points of interest not as close as your lead to believe however there is a number of restaurants nearby. Reasonably priced for San Francisco with bonus free parking. Would stay here again.
