Not a 4 star needs a good clean and renovation
The room was clean, bed very uncomfortable.the hotel in general was very dirty. Carpet looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. Pool area and changing rooms very run down and dirty looking. Service was shocking at dinner many staff on but no one seem to know what was happening except one lovely girl who eventually took items that never arrived or were incorrect off my bill. Check in was poor and my paperwork was less than what I was charged and the man who seemed manager was quite rude at explaining the reason. Overall I would return.

Good Food but Bad Accessibility
I stayed following a hectic day’s swimming in UL I picked this hotel because of its handiness to the motorway, a leisure centre and accessibility. The check in was good along with the accessible room been spacious and ample choice on the restaurant’s menu at a good price. Being a wheelchair user I needed a roll in shower that was there but its support chair was stored in the press in the main room where I was totally unable to get that to the shower with its weight and I being in a chair. I actually asked the receptionist to have a porter place it in the shower whilst at dinner. I discovered too late into the night for this to be done and unfortunately had to stand in the shower the following morning holding onto the rails for fear of falling. Even worse was the access to the adjoining leisure centre as a wheelchair user where there are no direct access other than a porter having to bring me out the back door, through the garden, up a rocky uphill path, through a car park and then get help to be lifted up a large step. Having got there things were okay and well able to relax. Unfortunately I had to experience the return journey to the hotel downhill in the cold. In the day of accessibility this is just not good enough for those of us who are competitive swimmers. Their accessibility needs to be rectified as a priority.

Had extensive dental work done of which I told the receptionist and I needed to rest. So we checked in after my dental procedure and we were given a room that we had to walk up approx 2 flights of stairs, 2 hallways and 3 mini flights of stairs to get to!! It was agonising to say the least. Room was spacious, but we did not sleep to a generator/fan going loudly through the whole night. Then the shower in the morning burnt you alive because it spurted scalding water in between of me regulating it!! Not an enjoyable stay at all. Mentioned it to a different receptionist upon checking out and she said somebody would contact me, but 24 hours later and haven't heard from anyone!!!
