Very clean hotel close to Museumplain (Van Gogh Museum and Reiksmuseum) with a good breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Room and bath were very tiny though- and no hotel lobby or sitting area , no extra frills . Fine for a night or 2 in Amsterdam.

Small hotel, with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean room, with modernized bathroom. Ultra convenient, located near main museums and major tram lines to take you to the rest of the city. Streetside room was a little noisy due to trams going by. Wish there was more storage for clothes- we had a small armoire with only 1 shelf for clothes that were not on hangers. A chest of drawers would have been handy (although hard to fit in such a small space). Overall, a good hotel that I would go back to.

Amsterdam has expensive hotels. The Bad We paid US$330 per day which included breakfast. The hotel is old Europe and the room was small. The mattress sagged and was uncomfortable. There is no air conditioning. We were happy to be there when the temperature was in the low 70s (F). The Good Great location of museum and supermarket. The staff was nice and English is spoken.

Avoid the single room at ground floor!!
The hotel locates at a nice and quiet neighborhood, also within very short walk to the museums. The single that I stayed was small but very clean and cozy. However, the nightmare started at late night when I was about to get a good night sleep for the long-haul flight next day. Divided by a very thin wall & door, all the footsteps, conversations, laughing and guests asking questions to the reception desk, early morning staffs cooking in the kitchen happening outside.....making my sleep impossible. I ended up putting on my noise-cancellation headset and set the cancellation to maximum. In short: this room should never be sold as a hotel room (for staffs only maybe), let along with local long weekend holiday, I ended up paying over 300 euros for such a nightmare. It's a ripped off and this should not be the right way to run business.

Good location near museums. We did not like: tiny room on top floor accessed by walking up to the top while lift stopped at floor below. Above all. we HATED the hard-as-rock pillows - when we complained the next morning, they said that they have softer ones, but those were not in the room when we needed them.
