No restaurants were open. Buffet style eating. Garbage
Felt comfortable, bleach clean smell, sanitizer everywhere...Very clean, very nice employees, although one restaurant was open, they sort of consolidated menus for variety and food was very good overall. We expected room service and liquor dispensers in the room, however a lot of things was not present or available and i feel they used “covid” as a copout. The air units in the room were set were i had to call maintenance to adjust temperature, the first night we couldn’t drop the air and it was very hot. Personally room service and liquor dispensers would have cut down on contact and communal gatherings and they could have just bleached the dispenser spouts at checkout and kept food wrapped from kitchen to room. You can get food to go but no microwave in room and minibars were not stocked. Water was beautiful, pool was nice, swim up bar closed, people did not social distance in swim up pool. Their Beach and all beaches were closed for their independence day by government because he felt locals would not social distance. That was a damper but understood especially considering many locals checked into the resort to go to beach and party prior to Riu beach being closed. Food service became very slow after 2 days and staff seemed very confused and did not have a functioning restaurant system for orders. Initially buffet was refused but setup when locals checked in. We Made the best of trip, it was still enjoyable Was still glad to travel safely.
Well we got charged for 4 restaurants but only one was open the entire time, so we only had one choice of restaurant to eat at and we didn’t get no refund or credit
The resort was very nice and felt safe as it was extremely clean. Some people at the resort complained about service taking forever but my fiance and I had no problems at all. They were cleaning everything and taking temperature checks and sanitizing everything. They did have limited places open but they did the best considering the circumstances. I would definitely recommend Riu Palace.
My overall experience was wonderful even during Covid. I would recommend and I would stay here again!
The property, beach, pools n staff were all excellent.
I understand my vacation was at the time when no one should travel . But change the same as usual with no service at all. No entertainment and limited buffet time . No food after 8 including room service .
It's a small property which makes it nice to see everything but it needs more daily & nightly entertainment.
let me start by saying I’m not very hard to please and I travel often. I reserved a king size bed; received to full size beds. I slept in a crack for the duration of my trip because they could not accommodate the king bed. The pillows were squares and uncomfortable. I woke up sore daily. The food was average, half the time not labeled and wasn’t very hot. The floors were slippery a man did fall in the dining area. The service was average, not like the hospitality I received at other all inclusive resorts. I asked for the mini bar to be restocked an hour later when no one showed I went for my own drinks. The beach & water is beautiful but everyone is there like a herd of cattle so close together. They don’t offer you drinks while on the beach you have to get them yourself. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.
Terrific access to Cabbage Beach. Food is above average. Rooms are a little dated but ok.
