The poolside rooms could really use a refresh. A mini fridge, coffee maker would have been a great addition. I know they are redoing the beachside rooms, hope poolside gets a refresh.
This hotel is just right! There are two parts to this hotel and the more oceanfront part is being renovated I think. I stayed in the poolside rooms and really it was a great value for a great room! Amazing nice guy at the desk. Housekeeping was suburb! Big rooms and big bathrooms. Nice little porch to relax on and look at the quiet courtyard. If you are looking to be right near the beach but don’t want to pay that kind of price then book this hotel. Good value and steps from Playa Norte.
I stayed at the hotel for two nights with my brother and had a great time! They had double beds, was clean, had AC, and the staff were friendly. They have partnerships with other nearby establishments which allowed us to utilize a beach bed with an umbrella right on the beach. It's walking distance from restaurants and bars, this location is ideal and is more affordable in comparison to the other hotels in that area!
Unique experience
It wasn’t advertised that the Oceanside rooms were under renovation. The rooms we were given, while ok, we’re across the road from the beach and to get to the beach we had to make our way through a winding tunnel of construction Also some issues with our safe and some missing money
Right now with COVID the public beaches are closed in isla Mujeres. The hotel had a pool and open for 24 hours which was good. The room was bigger than most of the hotels I’ve been but bed was smaller. We had massive ants (large red color) inside of the pillows We just found out at night time while we were sleeping it started to bite on us and their lighting was so bad we didn’t even notice when we checked in. But it was all over the room especially around the bed and night stand. I could see them crawling around edges. We had second floor and the stairs were made with woods to give more jungle feeling to it but definitely not to bring small children they will fall through between stairs or the railing. I’ve never stayed at the hotel that I have to let them know if I want my room to be clean otherwise they will not come. We walked out 10am and there was no one at the front desk and couldn’t let them know so when we came back the room was still mess as we left it and I had to ask for new towels. Because we didn’t tell them to clean it. The water they offer is not store bought sealed in bottle. They have their own glass bottle seal with paper tape which we didn’t even open it. Sink is located too high and the presser was too strong everytime we turn the water shoots outside or my clothes. They do not have private access to the beach nor beachfront hotel. It’s inside of the street that’s connected to the playa Norte. Also the building is facing inward? No sun
Was charged for beach side but beach side is closed. I would of never booked at that place if they would of told me the truth. They did give me back the price difference
Lovely hotel...unfortunately, many of the beaches are closed, but we found a wonderful seaside beach club just a couple of doors away w/great drinks and food, lovely pool, and a fabulous beach view! Great location....within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Na Balam also has a very nice pool area, if you want shade. I would stay here again!
The hotel staff are extremely helpful and courteous. They, along with Na Balam's location makes this place a 5 star. Our room on the beach side had the basic amenities such as AC, refer, king bed, TV and balcony. Wifi is sketchy unless you are at the office area or beach club. This was our second time staying at Na Balam and quite frankly do not see a reason to stay somewhere else when we come back to Isla.
