Appalling service is an under statement - what an embarrassment to a five star establishment. This was not an isolated interaction also, we consistently experienced a lack of professionalism, distance from accountability and absolute cluelessness when it came to solving any problems. Before arriving we had amended our reservation and receiced a confirmation for same. Despite showing the reservation team this confirmation they claimed they had not received and could not do anything about it. We waited over 45 minutes to speak with a manager who refused to meet with us at the front desk and distanced themselves from the problem. The resort itself is lovely but they forget the imperative ingredient of customer service. Overrated and not worth the price.
Really nice hotel, the elevators were a bit funny
It was my second time in this hotel. Huge disappointment from the 1st time. Dirty and needs lot of maintenance. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The property looks great but thats about it. A lot of staff members that need more training. They try and overcharge, giving you a menu with one price but trying to charge you more. The cocktails at the bar were not made with premium spirits or proper measurements as you would expect in a 5 star hotel. They advertise that they have numerous restaurants when in reality there is one steak house with not much choice and tapas by the pool (which gave us food poisoning). There is nothing sustainable or environmentally friendly about this establishment. (plastic cups with lids and two straws by the pool, plastic spoons for breakfast, cardboard boxes for pizzas instead of plates and change towels everyday.) The tv didnt work in our room and a maid walked into our room twice when we said no and werent clothed. The room itself and the smaller pool is good but thats the only places youd want to spend time in at the hotel.
Front service desk staff were amazing, particularly Abdellah was such a great help. Mahmoud (from Casablanca) at Urban Brasserie was also great and very polite, thank you for your service. Breakfast and the staff breakfast were 5 star, every day. The hotel allowed us to check out later at no extra cost, very nicely held on to our luggage and allowed us to continue to use the pool and hotel facilities after we checked out (we had a late evening flight and were allowed to use the showers in the Spa etc). The hotel is a little run down in some places (i.e. broken tiles in pool and) absolutely fabulous in others. Whilst it's kept rather clean, it lacks that pride in its appearance a 5 star hotel should have (i.e. smelly elevators, broken buttons, chipped furniture, broken tiles in pool, stained sun loungers). The Poolside staff and lifeguards were actually very nice. The poolside lunch menu is limited. One odd issue, which actually occurred after we checked out. We were allowed to continue to use the pool. We ordered some ice creams by the pool and opted to pay by cash as we could not charge the room (i.e. we had checked out). Staff member told us it would be100 Dirhams but my wife said, it was actually 80 Dirhams - as she remembered the prices from the menu. They did apologise, and charged the correct price but it was a little suspect. Not entirely sure if it was a genuine error or someone being an opportunist. It was only 20 dirham, but it's about the principle.
Nice staff, overall facilities where nice. Very positive experience. Would recommend.
Be aware that superior rooms and suites are in buildings far away from the lobby and all hotels amenities. I ve changed my superior room for a regular pool view room
Overpriced
The hotel, pools, rooms and grounds are lovely ( there are three pools to choose from and a kiddies pool). The gym was quite good too. It’s not far from the nightlife/main attractions at all. However after check out the reception guy cancelled the payment of my bill and I had to go back to reception to pay AGAIN..... which I thought was very unprofessional. Once I paid again I went back to my room to collect my luggage only to be stopped by the bellboys who tried to tell me to go back to reception to sort out the bill which I had already done. I was not happy and that’s when someone from reception rushed over and said it’s fine and then I was allowed to go. Overall the hotel is lovely but the staff need to not cancel transactions once a guest has paid (how this happened I do not know) and improve their communication with one another.
The resort internal decor is one of a kind, done in a smart, mysterious and enchanting manner. One "secretive" door allows you priviladged access to the garden of Eden. It was the highlight of my stay. Bravo for the designer. Must be awarded the designer of the decade. Also would love to thank a gentleman at the reception called Othmane for giving me the true Moroccan welcome.
