few problems at the Ven
Booked a deluxe room with free parking. Reminded them that the parking was free and was told they noted it on our account. The room we had for the first night was very small and overlooked an interior roof covered in construction debris. The HVAC unit was very loud. When I asked in the morning if this was indeed what they called a deluxe room the (very nice) clerk checked and said it was a standard room. She offered to have us changed to another room when one came available. We packed and left our suitcases. When we returned we were indeed in a slightly larger room, without the bad view, and with a slightly quieter air conditioner. We were also offered free drinks at the bar. We left the next morning and were charged for parking even though that supposedly had been settled at check-in. Again the employee was very pleasant, but I will carefully check my credit card bill to make sure they did cancel the charge for parking (over 50 dollars a night). Very good location, pleasant staff, ok rooms.

First time D.C.
I was disappointed with two aspects of the stay. The first was the valet parking at fifty two dollars a night which was not mentioned on the website. The other is the roof terrace which does not have any real views of the city sights. It was only opened towards the weekend and the photo shown is better then reality. On the good side the house keeping did a real good job. It is good for the Metro. Question would I be back? Not to this hotel.

Rooms need overhaul/Lobby & Bar Are Beautiful
We stayed here for a college grad weekend. The lobby is very nice, modern, and inviting. My room was not of the same vibe! There is just a lot of wear and what appears to be lack of maintenance (fruit flies circling the sink drain). The decor was funky/cool, just very worn. I booked 3 rooms. I had to leave a card for each room, not one for all, and due to a processing error, the hotel held funds for 5 rooms for 2 nights, which caused some issues with my credit cards and funds availability during the weekend. That was a MESS. So all in all--hang out here, eat, drink, meet friend. If you book a room, don't expect the room to be as nice as the lobby/bar area. :-)
