Beach property with no amenities
I still cannot believe this hotel/inn is still in business. 2 tiny soaps, no glasses or cups, no ice, no real drapes just flimsy veils which his nothing from public view. Pleade smelt damp and had an open fireplace with ash in it.

Decent for the price!
It was as the other reviews mentioned, the location is great but the property is need of some maintenance & upkeep. Room is basically clean with no bells & whistle, AC vent was very dirty which always freaks me out because you're breathing past customers God only knows!

Charming! Don't read old reviews!
Charming remodeled cottages. I read the bad reviews and decided to give it a try. Clean updated bathrooms, the mattresses were fine, nice staff, continental breakfast was good. Someone said they don't use fitted sheets... Uh were they stupid? NOBODY uses fitted sheets. I stayed at a 5 star resort two weeks ago and they use flat sheets. Across from the train tracks, yes. So are the othe hotels on the coast hwy that were far more expensive. the price was inline with amenities and location. I travel every 2 weeks and it was a refreshing change from the modern closed in hotels.

Maybe a bit too quaint.
We are the type of folks that when staying at the beach we prefer a bit more rustic or old quaint type of motel as opposed to a luxurious place. However, there seems to have been an owner change since we last stayed here. There was no coffee in the room, no drinking glasses, no ice bucket or ice for that matter. The place is run down but charming. The location is excellent. The small garden patio is a very nice place to sit in the evening. So, there you have it. I may stay here again but not certain.

Clean - great location
Passing through on the way to Oceanside. Decent place - kind of run down but good location. I was nervous at first of the train out front, but it does not run over the night. Close to beach! Nice owner and dog friendly. Nothing fancy, but clean.

Disappointing stay
As I reported in my review just yesterday, the rooms were not as advertised. They advertised queen beds and they were double beds with queen headboards. Electrical connections were hanging from headboard because cords were too short. Bedding was very uncomfortable and amenities not as advertised. Rooms were small, bathroom so unclean I would not shower there. I will never stay there again and will advise all friends and family to choose other hotels.
